Chapter 36

Sooni plopped me down in the huge bench at the long table. In seconds I get surrounded by all the pups! Lu'Nye sits besides me his new arm was in a sling. It had to be like that for  the next 6 weeks or so. 'My poor Baby!!' I thought as I leaned over and have him a hug. He seem to purr at me. He so much like his father.

The pups gathered close and they were touching me all over. Feeling my skin and my hair. There was a lot of chittering. They were all so adorable!! Many had colorings like Dar'ke but had more the features or either Sooni or Maini. Very few had the colorings of Sooni or Maini.

One of the really young ones poked me in my side hard with a Claw. "Ouch!" I said . Lu'Nye immediately growls at his sibling.

"Lu'Nye please be nice, they are just curious. " I purr to him

"Ooman bearer why are you so soft?" A young female pup asks very concerned that my skin was too soft.

"Phhhs you know nothing sister Oomans are generally soft but deadly." A slightly older male pup says matter of factly.

I wish I knew their names but from what I gather from Sooni and the other mates. Is that pups usually don't have names until they are a certain age. Once they go through a right of passage kinda like a Baptism. Only then they are given proper names.

However most keep the informal names that they are given as pups or take on nick names when they are adults. Which are usually based on a unique physical feature or skill that they excel in at a very early age.

The reason for this was that the pups are considered young and pure so no dishonor could ever affect them if they'd died early and returned to Paya. An go automatically to a yautja version of heaven. Verse an adult named one that Paya would judge they're actions. Their honorable and dishonorable behavior deciding where they would either go to heaven or hell.

Considering that I met Paya I realize how busy that deity must be! I wonder if I will ever meet them again and see what matches with the Yautja lore and with the being themself. I chuckle to myself.

Just then I am interrupted in my thoughts by the littlest female pup. She looked like a mix of Dar'ke and Maini. OMG my heart the cuteness is too much. She tugged at my hand for me to lean down.

She whispers to me "Bearer do you have anymore of the Ooman snack called juice?"  She looks up at me with these big eyes. Oh god I wanna spoil these kids right now!!!

I sit up "Sooni, Maini, Tanomi would you mind if I gave the pups some juice  and ooman fruit called apples while we are waiting for our meal?" I ask

Sooni speaks First "You may this time Chris. But this will be enough Ooman snacks for them for a while. Ooman food is full of sugars that are not good for yautja pups. If eaten all the time"

Maini speaks next "I would like a sample of the snacks as well Chris"

Tanomi grins "I will take some snacks as well if you have more of that Brew ready there Chris."

The pups look at me eagerly as I pull the apples, the fruit juice and few canisters of the brew out of my inventory. The pups start to get restless, Lu'Nye helps me out passing the treats along to everyone.

Just then I see Dar'ke come through the door followed by Hopper and Crash. "See I told you Ooman Snacks...and Brew!!! Chris be my ma....!" Hopper says as Sooni punches him in the guts.

Sooni then Growls at Hopper "She belongs to us and is not going anywhere!"

"Dar'ke..." Hopper whines

"You get no sympathies from me you just purposed to steal my mate from me. Your lucky it was Sooni that hit you Hopper" Dar'ke says in a low growl

I laugh at the spectical making the pups a little nervous. As they were not sure what kind of Ooman sound that was. I purr to them "I am sorry for scaring you, in Ooman language that sound is usually a happy sound."
