Chapter 9

I show Dar'ke the different sauces he decides on the soya sause and looks to enjoy it. I have a grin on my face from ear to ear. Still thinking of spicy space cat. I chuckle to myself. The rest of the fish we cook it up and I stored it in my inventory for later.

"Chris I have my clans chiva on this planet, where they become young blooded warrior, its a guided hunt of hard meats. In 4 planet rotations from today. The location is north of here but will take about 3 planet rotations to get there. I need to get there before they arrive due to reasons.... Will you come with me, as part of my clan?" Dar'ke asks in a low gruff voice. He looks at me in almost a pleading manner.

My jaw dropped a bit I never expected that he would ask me. I figured I would have to practically beg him to take me with him. I look over at him "Dar'ke I will come with you. It's not like anything is holding me to this planet" I try and say it without the heart pounding excitement I was feeling in my chest. I did want to seem over eager.

I look over at Dar'ke face which seems to be washed in relief, he nods at me before he puts his bio helmet on. "We leave soon make sure you pack everything in your inventory that you need. I will wait here" he states in a grumble and then stomps of the fire with his foot.

I nod back at him and then head back into cave I put in my mini stove and even throw in the table and chairs!' All that and the kitchen sink' I chuckle inwardly. I walk over to the bed wondering if I should take the furs...?

I grab one off the bottom bunk and hold the heavy pelt in my hands and it smells like Dar'ke..I hold it up and take a deep sniff in of his comforting scent. 'Wait did Dar'ke have a smell before? I never noticed it before. But how did I know it was his?' I ponder that thought as I hold the pelt closer to me.

"Fuck it...!" I pack all the furs into my inventory. Then take a few deep breaths before I head out of the cave. I look up towards the entrance and I see Dar'ke in his full muscle glory looking outwards the sky line leaning against the wall with his arms crossed in front of his chest. The moment was very stoic...

I clear my throat, and Dar'ke looks to me. I can already feel the heat rising in my cheeks " I got everything are you ready as well?" I ask. Dar'ke nods and waves to me to follow him. We head up the west path again. He seems more on guard. I think it is because of the Xenomorphs that attacked us yesterday.

It's odd as well since yesterday it's like I can see better, hear better, and definitely smell better. All my senses seem to be heighten but not to a painful extent...weird. I also seem more aware of my surroundings then normal too. I wonder if it had something to do with being marked yesterday or if the Mark Paya gave me is it reacting to Dar'ke mark?

I sigh and then stare at Dar'ke back I watch his muscles move and ripple under the netting an armor. I cock my head looking at the large scar that went from shoulder to hip. I feel a pang of sadness and ....regret...? As those were the scar's he got after he lost Krysis. Absencemindedly I reach out and lightly touch his scar.

Dar'ke suddenly stops and reaches around grasping my wrist, not facing me and says "do not touch unless you are prepared little Chris" then he releases my wrist and continues on walking in front of me. I am shocked...not at him but at myself!! 'Bad Chris! Bad Chris' I scold myself. Then I run to catch up to Dar'ke and I put my hands in my shorts pockets. I follow along trying to look at our surroundings verses the thirst trap in front of me....and I slap my face again!

As they left the cave our two main characters were being followed. But by who or what?...dun dun dun!!!

Dar'ke point of view

This Ooman was trying to kill me for her amusement I swear to Paya. I think to myself as I wait for Chris to gather any belongings. My mouth was still burning, however this could be used as a weapon. I think in ways she could use it incase she gets trapped. 'I can't lose them, I must protect them' I think to myself.
