Chapter 60

I watch as Chris falls asleep at the table. I was surprised to see that not only did she eat everything. She ate even more. Her stomach wasn't even distended at all. That was a little odd however she and the pups seemed healthy.

I pick her up and put her on the bed. I go to the shelf and grab a pair of shorts for her and slide them up her legs on to her hips.

I then pick her up and gently cradle her in my arms. She looked so vulnerable I want to protect them so much. I carry her to the medical center in the ship. I gently put her down on a scanning bed. One of the healers does the scan and gives me the data crystal.

Chris didn't even move she was in a deep and peaceful sleep. I will have to ask Maini about this. It's been awhile since I have been with a mate that was bearing.

I was looking forward to it. Sooni and Maini were very independent. I appreciated that however it was nice to be more a part of my pups life.

I carry Chris back to our room, the only movement that she did was cuddling into my chest. Her head was resting against my chest plate.

As we walk through the halls we run into Hopper who was on his way to get drinks for the training class. He seemed to be in a good mood.

He looks down over at Chris I'm my arms. I tighten my grip and growl at him instinctively. "Dar'ke I am not gonna do anything. I just wanted to see if it really was true. I still can't believe how fast that happened. Is Chris okay? " Hopper chitters quietly.

"I think so...honestly I am sending a scan to Maini to look over. Since Chris is Ooman and Yautja things may be different." I say to him

Hopper nods in concern "Thats a good move Dar'ke. Mind you it's not a bad thing that she is so peaceful. My mates are usually very cranky after conceiving." He said a little in wonderment. I nodded at him I know exactly what he means.

"I am heading to kitchen now. Make sure you come help with training tomorrow. Also talk to Chris about snacks!" Hopper says as he walks away.

As we walk the other direction I hear a soft whisper from my arms "Snacks...?" Followed by Chris's belly growling for more substance.

"When we get to the room Chris you can snack all you want. Its almost time that we can put a call to the family. " I purr to her

Chris looked around and saw that it was only us. She then sneaks out a bag of jerky from her inventory and starts to happily snack on it. I give her a playful growl. "Chris..."

"Dar'ke I will be careful but I am so hungry...Stupid Hopper mentioning snacks" she pouts to me

I can't help but Chitter laugh at her. We arrive back to the room and she is on her third bag of jerky. She tries and wiggles out of my arms. I give her a growl to stay still till I can put her down. She feeds me some of the jerky and huffs. I gently put her on bed.

"Dar'ke do I have time to shower up before we call them?" She asks me

"Yes but be quick about it and no snacking in the shower. Or else I will be showering with you!" I growl to her with a half ass warning. She stands up and hugs me.

"I will not snack in the shower, I promise" she says smiling up at me. Before heading in and shutting the door behind her.

I get the console ready and send the data to Maini. That way she can review it when we are talking.

I hop into the shower and let the warm water pour over me. I feel so light, even though I am eating like a pig! I pull out a chocolate shake drink and chug about 3 of them. Dar'ke said I couldn't snack he never said anything about drinking.  I don't even know how I am still so hungry!
