Chapter 122

Dar'ke and I were lazily sitting in the bath on the ship. The warm water was lapping over our skins. My back was against Dar'kes chest, his chin was resting on top of my head. His arms were wrapped around my waist.

"We have to leave the ship soon, Sa'ke will be eager to train with you." I say to Dar'ke. Who just let's out a growl of disapproval and grunts in response as well.

I chuckle at my mate. An wrap my arms around his an snuggle into him more. Dar'ke purred happily as I stroked his arms. "You seem to be doing a lot of training yourself Dar'ke...did you make sure to also look after yourself?" I ask him, worried that he hadn't looked after his health well.

Dar'ke let out a deep sigh "Chris I am better with you then with out you...we will leave it at that." He said to me avoiding the topic. I figure I would drop it an get details from Hopper and Ceillia later on.

I felt a sharp cramp that felt like my body was being squeezed in two halfs.  I took in a sharp breath as did Dar'ke at the same time. "Chris that was...very uncomfortable are you and  the pups okay?" He asks with concern in his voice.

"Yeah...I think so, I think I...I mean we had a practice contraction. Oomans get these as they enter the last stages of bearing. Its like training for the body before birthing." I said to him thoughtfully. I hope I didn't have to many of them while we are here. That could interfere with the training with Sa'ke.

Also it dawned on me if he felt that Dar'ke was going to feel everything that I would be going through when I gave birth. "Dar'ke I think it will be a good idea that Maini gives you pain management pills when it time for the pups to be born." I say to him.

Dar'ke was quiet for a moment "Chris I fear no pain, although it is uncomfortable, it is more then bearable..." he sulked to me....? Oh dear I think I hurt his pride.

I put my hand on his and gave it a squeeze. "Dar'ke I know you are an amazing, powerful hunter, that you have been through more trials then most. I just want to make sure as you're mate to look after you as well. Sooni said that giving birth is Chiva for females. I just wanted to make sure you will be okay. " I say to him in a calm and thoughtful tone to him.

Dar'ke chittered "There is no Chiva I can't pass" he boosted while hugging me closer to him.

I giggle and kiss Dar'kes neck. "I understand Dar'ke." I say to him. I still had a nagging feeling to check with Maini to have the pain meds on hand...not just for me but for Dar'ke as well.

I started to doze against Dar'kes chest.  I notice he was tapping on my belly, the pups tapped back with much more force then before. I smile and nuzzled Dar'ke as he played with the pups for a while, he was fascinated by they're movements. Since males were generally not allowed to touch females when bearing this was still new to him.

I wanted him to bond more with our pups. This turned out to be a great idea, an the pups who knew no different seemed to enjoy it as well. They had missed their father as well I could feel it.

I felt Dar'ke stroke my cheek to my chin with a purr. "Should we go to bed if you are sleepy?" He asks me in a tone that makes me want to jump him again!

I shake my head no. "Dar'ke I think it would be best if we got out soon an got dressed. The colony members, will be eager to talk to you. Plus I have feeling if you keep me in here a minute longer then 3 days Siri is gonna have a riot of females outside the ship" I said half joking half seriously.

Dar'ke gently pressed his mandibles to my forehead, then scoops me out of the bath as he stands up. I mean no matter how many times I saw him naked I always flushed with heat all over.
