"Alright dude, I think you are ready, wanna see why we actually brought you here?" Edric asks, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Do I really want to?" "Eh, probably not-"
Viney walks over to the chalkboard and starts drawing on it with a piece of chalk. It looks like a box with a keyhole inside of it. She taps on it and some sort of door opens up in it. "What the hell?" I say, visibly surprised. "It's the secret clubhouse, dumbass." Edric grabs my hand and drags me over to it, "C'mon, what are you waiting for? Go on!" He climbs inside of it, ushering me to get inside, "Fine, I'm not going to like it though." I hesitantly climb inside and walk through the small corridor. Jerbo, Viney, and Barcus follow after us.
The inside just consists of many, many doors and some staircases. "Soo, Hunter, how do you like it?" Viney asks, sitting down on some of the stairs. "Why is there so many stairs?" I deadpan. "'Cause it's cool! Also, it can do this!" Jerbo walks over to one of the doors and opens it, part of a classroom opens up. A teacher inside of it is talking about Oracle magic.
"Woah- I mean, what?" I say, walking away from the door. "I know man, it is a lot to take in!" Edric exclaims, pulling me into some sort of, hug? I sit down onto the stairs and swing my legs, "What do you guys even do in here? Make trouble or something?" Viney snorts, "I mean, we could, but we just skip class in here. We use to use it for studying classes when we were in the Detention Track. Bump didn't want us going to class so we just hung out in here instead of sitting in detention. It's a lot better in here than out in class." "Why were you in the Detention Track anyways?" I am actually kind of curious about it. "Mixing magic, Bump wasn't to fond of it, not until Luz came along; She helped get us into all of the tracks we wanted to be in!" Wait- "The human is in Hexside?" I mumble to myself. "Yeah, why do you care?" Can't they just stop nosing into my business? "It's nothing, leave it."
"How long have you been at Hexside, Hunter?" Viney asks after a couple minutes of silence. "Today is my second day-" "Second? Dude? How are you liking it so far? What is your favorite class? Are you sick of Edric yet?" Edric slaps her on her shoulder, "First of all, how dare you? Second of all, stop pestering the poor guy with questions." She glares at him and apologizes, "Sorry man, just a bit too curious. Butttt, how are you liking Hexside?" I shrug, "It is not as bad as I thought it would be." Jerbo cuts in, "Where did you transfer from? St. Epiderm?" Was not expecting him to ask that, "Uhhh, I was homeschooled?" Jerbo looks at me suspiciously and nods, "Ah, lucky, I hate having to go to public school; it sucks!"
Twenty minutes later...
"Oh shit! Hunter! We gotta go! Class ends in like two minutes and we need to get our stuff!" Edric pulls me by the wrist for the second or third time today. He drags me back to class and we grab our stuff. Within a couple minutes we are on our way to our next class.
I just want this day to end already.
