Chapter Thirty-Four

Hunter's POV:

  "Why did you change your mind all of a sudden?" Edric decided to go into town instead of going back to his house. I'm fine with going out, but I would've rather not have though. I don't do well around big groups of people. "I don't know, the idea just came to me. You are okay with going out, right?" "Oh, yeah, I don't really mind much." "Okay! Wanna go head out and get something to eat?" "Sure!"

  Edric takes us to some restaurant. I've seen it a couple times while I was walking around on patrol. It looks pretty nice from the outside; I've never been inside the place though. We take a seat at a table far away from the entrance. "What are you gonna order?" "Probably chicken tenders or something." Yes, I'm a very picky eater, shush. I hate trying new things. "You act like a child sometimes." He laughs. "Shut up. You know, just for that, you're paying for the food." The waiter comes and takes our orders. 

  Edric gets spaghetti, I think. "Is your 'food' good?" He jokes. I roll my eyes. "Shush, it's the only thing I like." "Past that, what do you want to do after this?" "I don't know, want to go look around? I don't get to go many places that much." "What why? Aren't you always on patrol in Bonesborough?" "Yeah, but when I'm on duty I can't do anything except try to find criminals." My job sucks. "Oh shit, sorry about that. That must suck!" "It does." 

  Edric tries to pay for it, but I feel bad, so I pay for half of it. "You didn't have to pay for it!" We start walking around town. "I don't care, I felt bad about making you do it. Also, I'm like rich, I get a lot of money from Belos. Mainly so I don't bother him most of the time." He gasps dramatically. "Not fair! I wish my parents would give me money to leave them alone." 

  We explore town for a while. "I'm gonna head back to my house." I say. My 'house' really isn't a house, but it would be weird if I called it anything else. "Yeah, it's getting pretty late, my mom will kill me if I come home past my curfew." "I'm lucky, I don't have a curfew. I just need to tell somebody before I do anything. "I will say it again, not fair!" I laugh. "See you tomorrow, don't die trying to get home." 

  I walk back to the castle. I'm pretty happy about how today went. I've been a lot happier since I have met Edric and my other friends. I just need to stay on Belos's good side, so he doesn't take me out of Hexside. I'm happy with how my life is going currently.
