Chapter Forty-Six

Hunter's POV:

  Today's the day we're supposed to go to the Owl House and hang out with Luz, Amity, and Emira. Not looking forward to it. Also, Odalia didn't come back to Edric's house last night, hoping she doesn't tonight also.

  Anyways, past all of that, I'm still pretty anxious about the whole Luz thing. Edric probably knows about all of what happened in Latissa a couple months ago, but he hasn't mentioned anything about it, same with Emira too. It'll be fine, hopefully. 

  "We are almost at the Owl House, we only have a couple more minutes left of walking. I'm guessing that you've already been here a couple times before though?" "Yeah, do you know anything that happened in Latissa with Luz and I?" "Oh yeah, I didn't want to mention it though, I thought it may be a sensitive topic. Also with the whole Eclipse Lake thingy." Didn't realize that he knew about that too. Pretty sure Amity is the one who told him. 

  "Sorry about fighting your sister and threatening her girlfriend." "Nah it's fine, Mittens is way over that, it was like a month ago." "Oh, well I'm still sorry about it! I wasn't that mentally healthy at the time." "Water over the bridge, I honestly forgot about all of that." 

  "Heeyy, guess who's here!" Edric yells as we make our way inside the house. "Finally, you took forever-" Luz pauses in the middle of her sentence as soon as she sees me. Everybody in the room turns around to look at me. Feeling pretty uncomfortable right about now. "Oh, it's you, Hunter." "Yep, that's him! I know you might be mad at him for what happened in Latissa, but he's changed, right Hunter?" "Mhm," I nod my head.

  Eda walks into the room not that long after. "So, what is the sad but bad boy doing here?" I feel my face start heating up. "Edric dragged me here against my own will." He has an offended look on his face. "You said you were fine with coming!" "Didn't feel like arguing during that." "Well next time, I will just leave you alone!"

  "Hunter, what happened to your eye?" Eda asks. Edric, Emira, Luz, Amity, Eda, and I are all sitting in the living room just talking about whatever comes to mind. "Uh, Belos happened," "Wait what? How the hell did he manage to do that?" "Don't want to talk about right now," "Okay, but one last question; are you still staying with him? If you're not, where are you staying at?" Eda is very nosy with other people's business for some reason. "I thought Hunter could stay with me, but I don't think that's going to happen; my mom's not going to be too happy if I ask her." Edric explains for me. "Oh, I'm sorry about that." At that exact moment Luz gets an idea. "Could he stay with us, Eda? Please?"
