Summary: You are a guard in Asgard. Lokis a prisoner.

Warnings: none

I march the hallway, pacing back and forth across the cells, ignoring the cat calls from the numerous prisoners. These idiots. I hear my boots click on the concrete floor, my hand constantly pressed against the hilt of my sword. I can hear the soft murmur of the prince's voice under the loud "Look at that ass, make me want to break out of here!"

"Shut up Lucian!" I call back, finally getting near the prince's cell. He lives in an underground cell at the end of the hall so you can only hear if you're near the door.

I open the big door to check on him, moving the food and water closer. The people who bring him his stuff tease him by putting it out of his reach. He's reading aloud, it sounds so familiar.

"What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word-"

I stop, smirking at my shoes, trying not to gain to much attention before I continue forward hoping he didn't notice.

"You cannot just stop like that and expect me not to notice" he slyly comments from his spot on the floor.

I stay straight faced and turn to the cell "As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee"

He stood up from his spot on the floor, picking up the food I moved closer to him, setting the book with the pages to the ground "You know of the midgardian text?"

"It's one of my favorites, please don't put the book like that it cracks the spine"

"Right.... Why do you like this? Seems like a work for the simple. Why would Romeo have these feelings? He appears to be an absolute twat"

I laugh under my breath, pulling the jug from my side and pausing to say "Well, Prince Loki, not everyone is void of all emotion" I teased.

"Right, cause you have emotions. I've never even seen you smile, Y/n" he teased back, finding his spot on the floor again, starting his dinner. Pulling the play back into his lap.

"Well," I moved to the door, needing to finish my rounds, "I haven't had a reason to smile in a while"

*One week later*

I open the large door, moving the food closer to his cell. My head has been pounding all day and frankly hearing the same Romeo and Juliet is kind of ruining it for me.

"But soft-"

"what light through yonder window breaks, it is the east, and Juliet is the sun"

"How do you have it more memorized than I do?" he took the plate, standing up.

"Don't you have any other stories? Or maybe we can just sit in silence" I mumbled, taking a drink, closing my eyes as I layed my head against the wall of his room.

He pressed his forearm against the translucent magic wall of his cell, leaning forward as he looked over to me.

"What plagues you?" a hint of concern behind his stature.

"Nothing, sir. If everything is fine I'm going to continue my shift soon" I grumbled, rubbing my eyes.

"No, everything is not fine, take a seat" he ordered, pulling one of his gold trimmed chairs up to the edge of his translucent walled cells.

"Is that a command, my prince?" I questioned heading towards the doorway. Trying to leave before he can tell me to stay.

"YES! SIT DOWN!" he yelled.

I angrily pulled the chair in front of him, meeting him in the middle. Crossing my arms over my chest as I sit in the uncomfortable chair, raising my brows at Loki.
