Cars 🕸

I jumped out of bed, my eyes wide open, my head pounding. I just want to go to sleep. I trudge through the hallways of my apartment, knowing he's probably still awake anyways. I pull my phone out and text:

Peter

Wanna go get snacks? I can't sleep

I opened the doors to the stairs and started up the first flight as my phone dinged. I smiled looking back at the phone as I headed through the stairs.

Peter

Wanna go get snacks? I can't sleep

Of course! You have a car? Or are you wanting to walk?

I thought back, I could take Dad's car, he doesn't care, he barely even knows I exist.

Peter

Of course! You have a car? Or are you wanting to walk?

We will take my Dad's car

I got to his floor, opening the big metal door at the end. He was coming out of his apartment quietly, shutting the door behind him softly. He was wearing pajama pants and a t-shirt, a stupid green backpack and his Stark watch.

"Come on!" I giggled, waiting for him to quietly leave the hall, holding the door open for him.

"What are you doing up? Didn't you work today?"

"Did you sneak out? Past Aunt May?"

"Yeah" he giggled.

I walked quietly down the stairs, making my way back to the apartment to grab the keys. I stopped on my floor, guiding him to the door "You can come in, just stay quiet, the kids are asleep"

I came in looking for the car keys, Mom set them down somewhere when she came home. Peter followed close behind, whispering
"Did they go down easy tonight?"

"Connor (brother, the youngest) threw a fit but that's the usual"

"What about the girls?"

"They both had homework they needed help with but, we got it done and they're asleep"

"Good"

I found the keys, excitedly looking back at Peter and jingling them. He had made his way into the kids room and was tucking them in.

"Peter! Let's go!" I whispered in the doorway, making him turn.

I made my way to the car, getting and setting my phone and wallet down in the console. I'm pretty sure I have enough money for some chips and drinks.

"Seatbelt" I reminded, looking over at him.

He clicked it in, looking out at the lights as I drove out of the parking garage. I talked to him about work and about school, he told me about Ned and how scholars bowl was going.

"So, I think I'm going to go get sushi too, I'm really hungry"

"That does sound good, there's a place right next to the store we always go to"

"Right"

I drove to a light, stopping behind a dark car. Waiting for it to turn green. Peter told me that he got a new lego set, offering to come over and let my brother play with them.

"Yeah, I'm sure he'd like that"

The light turned green and I followed the car out, until the car stopped suddenly at the crosswalk, forcing me to brake in the intersection.
