"What's wrong, Lex?" Lizzie asked scooting closer to her in the car.

"You're sending me away," Alexis whispered into the silent car as she kept her gaze on something outside the window. It wasn't new news to Lizzie but hearing those words slip from her daughter's lips was enough to make her heart crack.

"I'm not sending you away," Lizzie said defensively.

"You are, you're sending me away and there's nothing I can do about it," Alexis huffed keeping her eyes towards the window.

"I'm not sending you away, sweetheart," Lizzie tried again but at this point, they were going in circles.

"I don't believe you," Alexis told her bluntly.

"Well you don't have to, I'm not sending you away," Lizzie explained again but it wasn't working.

"I still don't believe you," Alexis informed her.

"Can we go inside and have this conversation?" Lizzie asked noticing Boyd patiently waiting outside of the car for them.

"So you can give me to my new family?" Alexis shot back suddenly frightened to leave the car.

"No, I'm not sending you away. Boyd is waiting outside, so let's go inside and we can continue this," Lizzie encouraged her, this is not how she wanted to have this conversation.

"Just you and me?" Alexis clarified still hating the idea of her mother with Boyd. He never said the right things and most of the time his slip-ups were loudly directed at Alexis.

"Just me and you." Lizzie clarified.

"Fine," Alexis grumbled quickly unbuckling herself and pushing the door open before slamming it behind her. Lizzie sighed deeply before returning back to the opposite side of the car and getting out, seeing as Alexis didn't want her following her out on her side.

"How is she?" Boyd whispered when Lizzie stepped out of the car.

"Not great, we're gonna talk more once we get inside," she informed him, thankful for his chill nature tonight. He was a perfect gentleman, granted he didn't talk much, but it was just what Lizzie needed for today with Alexis being all over the place.

"Ok, and I set the guest room up earlier this morning," Boyd said as Alexis rounded the back of the car unsure of where to go in this new place.

"Alright let's go," Lizzie said reaching out to take Alexis's hand but she blatantly declined.

They headed towards their building and stepped into the elevator in a tension-filled silence. Once they reached their floor, Boyd unlocked the door and took Alexis's bags straight to the guest room before disappearing into his and Lizzie's bedroom. Lizzie gave Alexis a quick tour of the place, trying to prolong their talk in hopes that maybe some extra time would help lower some of Alexis's anger.

It felt werid for Alexis like she was a stranger in Lizzie's presence for once. She had never been here but that never seemed to be an issue until now. She couldn't help but feel out of place and strange, it was like she wasn't ever meant to be here. The house was neatly decorated similar to the LA apartment but there was a lot more masculine touches, less pictures, and more abstract decorations.

Once they made it to the guest room, Lizzie asked Alexis to get ready for bed then they would talk. Alexis angrily agreed to the situation thinking it was ridiculous to delay the inevitable. Lizzie returned shortly in her own pajamas after washing her face and brushing her teeth. Alexis didn't have as long of a nightly routine so she had been quietly seething for quite some time. Her small Winnie the Pooh bear bounced in her hands as Lizzie took a seat next to her on the floor at the foot of the bed.
