Lizzie's POV

I woke up to a lot of movement in the bed and just as I was trying to adjust my eyes to the darkness, I was hit with an elbow to the torso.

"Oh fuck," I shouted instinctively reaching up to touch my side which now that I realize is probably bruised or something. It didn't take long for me to realize that everything is not well. Alexis is squirming, no fighting, in her sleep way too out of it to realize that she just hit me.

I quickly flipped on the lamp by my bedside as my eyes adjusted to the light I could see her scratching her arms and not lightly. It looked like they had been scratched a few times now and now she was starting to draw blood. I didn't even want to try and imagine what nightmare had put her in this state, one that she was so far in that she felt the need to fight.

I moved quickly to pull her arms away from each other which earned me another swift hit to the face. "Holy shit, that hurt," I yelped in pain as I held my face, which is when I realized I was not only mildly sore but my nose was bleeding. Great, not that we needed to make matters worse. I tilted my head back trying to keep from bleeding all over as I hastily pulled down the sleeves of Alexis's pajamas to hopefully stop the scratching.

I flipped on the lights as I quickly made my way across the room flipping on light switch. As I held a clean tissue to my probably gross face, the door flung open dramatically slamming against the doorstop.

"Oh my god, Liz what happened?" Boyd asked as he scanned me than the room.

"It's okay, I'm okay," I held up my free hand to stop his protests but that only made him gasp loudly.

"Why is your hand so bloody?" He asked worried, concern seeping through his voice. Yes, I love that he cares but the only worry I had was about Alexis. I was about to answer when he cut me off, "did Alexis hurt you?" he asked in a tone that I rarely heard from him, a sort of angry protectiveness that usually only came out around the paparazzi. Never did I think it would ever be directed towards a child, nevertheless my child.

"I'm fine," I corrected him quickly as my focus turned back to Alexis. She didn't look like she was scratching anymore but she was now tossing and turning pushing off the blankets in her sleep. I'm still concerned by the number of lucid actions that were taking place despite her sleeping state.

"So it was her?" Boyd concluded for himself as if that answer was gonna solve anything. I tipped my head down trying to get this nose bleed to run its course faster so I could help Alexis. I watched Boyd as he seemed to carefully weigh his options before taking a few steps towards the bed.

"Don't touch her," I warned him in a low tone.

"It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt her and I won't let her hurt me," Boyd answered as if that made it all better.

"That's not why I said that. Don't touch her, B! She's probably terrified and you cannot help that," I huffed as he froze his actions hearing my harsh words.

"Liz, she needs help. It's fine, I got it," he brushed me off.

"Don't lay a fucking finger on her," I shouted at him. Alexis's thrashing movements had slowed and now she was just lightly tossing in her sleep, probably close to waking up. She was laying on her stomach so her mouth was muffled by the bed and I couldn't really make out anything except for a few soft cries. My nose was still, unfortunately, bleeding so I was half focused on getting it to clot while yelling at Boyd. I wanted nothing more than to run to her side and help but I had to deal with this first.
