Chapter LXXVI

"D-Daisuke, you..."

I finally found you.

Daisuke saw the tears falling down your cheeks. Your eyes are filled with concern as you see him in his state. Unknowingly, Daisuke feels his heart feels warm

He feels his body gets weaker and numb. The pain from the bullet that pierces inside him is increasing. Daisuke didn't move as he saw you running towards him and hugged him tight. Daisuke wrapped his arms around you too as you felt him breathe deeply.

You're warm, I like it. Good thing, you're not hurt, (Y/N).

"Shhh," He whispered, comforting you, as his soft lip pressed gently against your forehead. He hears your soft sobs while you are still hugging him.

"I-I'll save you, h-hang in there, Daisuke. Please. Don't die on me. I...I will do anything, please, please live." You whispered into his ear, tears still flowing down your cheeks.

Daisuke smiles a little upon hearing those words as his strength slowly vanishes. He can no longer stand up as his body is losing a lot of blood. Daisuke falls on you as you slowly but carefully handle his weight lower and lower.

"Save him if you can." Grendel stated in an authoritative voice, "If he will die, blame yourself, (Y/N)."

Daisuke hears those words and he's extremely on fire, but he keeps himself calm and tries to control his breathing as much as possible. He feels Grendel lowered down towards you before kneeling to whisper something in your ear. The whispers are faint but Daisuke can hear those words clearly.

"I will leave you here. Only the two of you. You will see the person you love the most slowly dying. You will curse life and you will go back to me and help me rule the world."

Your tears are continuous. Grendel went out of the mansion as the sound of a helicopter echoed after.

"Daisuke, I won't let you die here."

No, trust me, (Y/N), you should not save me. Don't save me if you want to be saved.

Daisuke wants to say those words but he feels a torn cloth dampening his wound to avoid further bleeding, making him stil. He is having a hard time breathing normally but he smiles slightly. Daisuke's eyes are already close while he is chasing his breath, slowly losing consciousness.

(Y/N), don't save me... but still...

"I'm glad...you're safe." Daisuke whispered weakly with all his remaining strength before his vision darkened.

As he loses his consciousness, what happened earlier flashes in Daisuke's mind.

Daisuke was able to infiltrate the small island where a large mansion is standing. The place is surrounded by a cliff, unabling to let anyone escape, the perfect place to hide you. Daisuke remained calm as he clicked the self-destruct button on the ultra-expensive plane that he is using. He jumped out of it and used his ultra-expensive automatic parachute with 3d visual controller.
