Madeline Sage Saltzman, a vampire hunter and adoptive daughter of Alaric Saltzman, did not know what was in store for her when she entered Mystic Falls. Each passing day meant more potential dangers emerging. How will she handle it when she falls in...
Madeline always dreamed of finding out the truth about her mother. It was all she ever wanted. She wanted to know why Damon chose her ─︎ why he thought it was okay to break up their family.
She sat alone on her porch, waiting for her father to return so they could discuss everything going on with their deceased loved one. Instead of meeting up with her dad, she saw Stefan Salvatore strolling towards her, a comforting smile slithering onto his face. Unable to find the motivation to tell him to leave, she let him sit down beside her, smiling even with her pessimistic sentiments.
"How are you doing?" Stefan asked, pondering how their talk would play out. Since he had confronted the two Saltzman in the classroom, things hadn't really been the same. "Elena told me what happened."
"I feel like opening up my dad's stockpile of bourbon." Madeline half-joked, allowing herself to feel more relaxed around the Salvatore vampire. "I am surprised you decided to show your face again, considering I shot you in the stomach."
"Well, I forgave you. Plus, it wasn't right how I handled it with you and Alaric." Stefan apologized with a smile. "I am sorry."
"Hm, well, I don't forgive you." the girl responded, making the vampire's smile falter. "Unless you help me choose what my father and I should wear for the fundraiser. He is one of the bachelors, and I am currently manifesting that Jenna gets him."
Chuckling, Stefan nodded as they both stood up. "I would be honored to help you." Madeline opened her door, stepping inside before looking back at the vampire.
"I am trusting you, Mr. Salvatore," she murmured. "Despite what you do, I can't stay mad at you."
"For some reason, I feel the same way," Stefan admitted, happy that he could soon hang out at his friend's house.
"Would you like to come in, Mr. Salvatore?" Madeline challenged, stifling a smile and unintentionally displaying her dimples. Although he didn't know it yet, he grew to appreciate that feature the most, along with her green eyes. Stefan smiled widely. He didn't expect to be let inside. He thought the trust they shared was shattered.
Stefan chuckled, "Leine, I would love to."
"Leine?" Madeline questioned as the vampire walked inside.
