ron sat with lily in his arms up in the astronomy tower with harry and hermione.

she could barely hear their conversation as ron was whispering sweet things in her ear.

"you are so beautiful," he mumbled, kissing the skin under her ear lovingly. she giggled at his words. "i'm so enamored by you."

"yeah?"

"mhm. you aren't going to leave my side at all this holiday. it's gonna be just you, me, and my bed," he joked making her laugh.

"yeah in the room you share with your twin brothers," she mocked.

"ima have my own again, shut up," he said playfully. "smart arse."

she huffed, crossing her arms.

"i'm just teasin', love," he kissed her neck as she turned away, looking at harry and hermione who were looking at them.

"hey, they're looking, stop," she smirked, knowing he'd be embarrassed as he looked up.

"you're okay with it, right ron?" hermione asked with a chuckle.

"okay with what?" he mumbled.

"harry and ginny."

"guess so," he sighed, looking down at lilys smile.

"just keep the snogging to a minimum," hermione joked.

"i'm not coming back, you guys," harry said. "i've got to finish whatever dumbledore started. and i don't know where that'll lead me, but i'll let you guys know where i am when i can."

"i've always admired your courage, harry," hermione said as lily helped ron get up. "but sometimes, you can be really thick."

lily laughed as she and ron joined them.

"you don't really think you're going to be able to find all those horcruxes by yourself, do you?" lily told him.

"you need us, harry," hermione told him.

ron stood behind lily, protectively with his arms around her as harry and hermione looked out the astronomy tower.

"i never realized how beautiful this place was," harry said, making lily giggle.

just then, a large bird known to be pet of dumbledore, cried and flew past them.

harry and hermione changed directions to look at the bird fly by. ron stayed with lily in their previous position and watched the bird fly as well. it was beautiful.

"i love you," ron whispered into lily's ear.

"i love you too," she turned around and hugged him, sighing as they stared off into the horizon.
