We both stayed silent through the duration of the ride. He's looking away while I'm looking at him. Nalulungkot ako kasi kahit hindi ko naman sinasadya, eh nasasaktan ko parin siya.
Bumagal na ang andar ng ferris wheel hudyat na malapit na kaming bumaba. Binuksan niya ang pintuan at naunang bumaba. Mabilis naman niyang inoffer ang kamay niya para tulungan ako.
"Thanks, Light." Hindi na ako nagtaka nang hindi niya ako pinansin. That's just who he is fundamentally. "Teka lang!" Habol ko. Pagkatapos niya akong alalayan ay dire-diretso siyang naglakad.
"Light! Wait up!"
"Light Castro!" I shouted. Napahinto siya pero hindi parin lumilingon. I immediately grabbed his arm before he started walking again. "Mag-usap nga tayo!"
"What do we have to talk about?" Tanong niya ng hindi ako nililingon.
"Akala ko ba okay na? Na kakalimutan nating nangyari yon?"
"I know." He nodded. "We're okay."
"Then why the hell are you ignoring me?"
"I'm ashamed of myself. I'm a big jerk. I may be the biggest jerk ever."
I sighed. "When I said that we should just forget about that, I meant it." I sincerely said. "I really wanna forget about it."
Finally, hinarap na niya ko. "But the truth still matters to you, right?"
Tumango ako. "I won't deny it. I still want to know the truth. The only difference is, hindi kita pipilitin. I trust you, Light. Wala kang gagawin na ikasasama ko. And if you think keeping the truth from me means that you're protecting me, then it's fine. If you think I can't handle the truth, it's okay. I know you won't make impulsive decisions. In time, maybe, you'll tell me everything, who knows?"
He looked at me with tired eyes and smiled a little. I was taken a back when he cupped my face with both of his cold hands. "Why are you like that?"
I didn't answer instead I just smiled at him.
Mukha siguro kaming tanga sa ginagawa namin dahil may biglang sumigaw ng, "Forever na ba kayong magtititigan diyan?!"
Napabitiw si Light sa mukha ko at agad nag-iwas ng tingin. Ngunit sabay kaming natawa nang may sumagot, "Walang forever!"
And we ended up laughing at ourselves until the end of my apology date.

Of course, Light brought me home before 8. Takot niya na lang kay Daddy. Mom invited him inside but Dad.. well Dad is being.. unreasonable?
