"Okay, sounds good guys." Yeonjun said, glancing at his fellow band mates. Their hour long rehearsal had just ended, finishing up with one of their new songs. "I think this song is gonna kill at our next gig."
"Yeah." Wooyoung agreed. "Didn't think Yeji could write something actually half decent- Ow!" He groaned, feeling himself slapped by the woman.
Yeji smirked, pulling her bass strap over her shoulder. She neatly laid her bass against one of the speakers. "I'll take the compliment."
"So taking the compliment is giving me a backhand?" Wooyoung muttered under his breath, still rubbing the sore spot on his cheek.
Yeonjun got up from behind his drum kit, walking round to stand next to Yeji. "Are you guys coming out tonight?" He asked, leaning his arm on Yeji's shoulder.
"Probably not, it's not like it's anything important." Yeji shrugs, garnering a scoff from the male.
"So celebrating my birthday is nothing important?"
"Oh is it your birthday? I had no idea."
Yeonjun laughs off the woman's sarcasm. "Are you guys coming or not?"
"Yep." Both Yeji and Wooyoung say in unison.
"And Beomgyu?"
The trio look over to their guitarist, who seemed completely disconnected from the world. He'd been like this a lot recently, and no one could work out why. It was more common than not, to see him glancing off at nothing.
"Gyu!" Wooyoung nudged the boy.
Beomgyu snapped out of it. "What?"
"Are you coming out tonight?"
"Uh sure I guess." He mumbled, pulling over his guitar strap, he placed the guitar in a similar style to Yeji's bass. "Wait, is Taehyun coming?"
He hated that seeing Taehyun was a genuine concern now, especially because it made it impossible to get the man off his mind. He couldn't be around him, he couldn't let him back in his life. These five years had past, and Beomgyu was happy with his life, he didn't need Taehyun anymore.
"That guy who's friends with Soobin? I don't know." Yeonjun replied. "I wouldn't be surprised though. Is that a problem?"
"Yes, very much." Beomgyu hissed, rolling his eyes. "I'm not going if he's going."
"Hold up, there's definitely something going on between you. I remember how you acted the other night, like you were being rude for no reason." Yeji commented.
"Did you guys know each other before?" Wooyoung asked, as the trio looked expectantly at Beomgyu.
He could feel the pressure, everyone wanted to know the truth. Though, it was none of their business, and Beomgyu had no desire to tell them anything.
"Fuck off." He spat, before leaving the room.

Silence over took the dinning room, with the only sound coming from the clattering of cutlery. Taehyun had forgotten this feeling, the disconnect between him, and his parents. This is how his family dinners always were, much different to the ones he now spends with Youngmi. Though, he didn't even have her to bring him some sort of comfort. She hadn't spoken to him for days, and still had no plans to.
Clearing his throat, Mr Kang broke the silence. "Your office will be ready for Monday Taehyun, so I expect to see you at the company 8 o clock sharp."
Taehyun could sense Youngmi tensing at his fathers words. "Understood." He replied, hoping to end the conversation.
"We have a huge sponsor coming on Tuesday to discuss their future plans with the company. I'll need you in your best form, since it's going to be almost impossible to keep them on board." Mr Kang was noticeably frustrated; Taehyun only hummed an answer.
"Can we not discuss work at the dinner table?" Mrs Kang shook her head, she directed her gaze towards Youngmi, beaming a smile at the woman. "The engagement party's tomorrow, are you excited?"
"Yes of course." Youngmi lied.
"I have all my friends coming, and so many wonderful things in store, it's going to be amazing." Mrs Kang said, and no one doubted her. She'd thrown many a party over the years, all of which ended up as the talk of the town. Any reason to celebrate, and Mrs Kang was on it. "I really can't wait to show everyone your beautiful dress, if Taehyun didn't love you already, I'd guess he'll fall head over heels when he sees you."
Youngmi let out a small chuckle, something she easily faked.
"I'm sure I will." Taehyun interjected, in an attempt to move the conversation along. "Now mother, I was wondering if Kai will be at the party tomorrow."
"Your cousin? I'd assume so, he is invited." She replied, taking a sip of her wine. Her glass clinked against the table, as she placed it down. "Why do you ask?"
"Oh, I was just wondering. I haven't seen him for a while."
"How lovely, you've both grown so much in these five years, it'll be nice for you- "
Mrs Kang paused at the ringing of her husbands phone. The man immediately placed down his cutlery, getting up from the table. "Yes, what is it?" He answered, as he left the room.
"Work, work, work." Mrs Kang scoffed. "Can't even prioritize family dinner."
Taehyun found this action rather nostalgic, seeing his father leave everything behind for a work call. He really cherished these moments when he was younger, as he preferred when his father wasn't around. He had the same sense of gratitude now, since that dislike had never gone away.
"We're almost done with dinner anyway." Mrs Kang commented, clicking her fingers, to signal the staff over. They began to clear the plates from the table. "Youngmi, how about we go do some painting? It's such a wonderful way to relax, and we can have some girly chats."
"I'd love to." She replied, reluctantly. If there was one thing Youngmi didn't want to do right now, it would be painting with Mrs Kang. The woman wasn't awful, but she really wasn't in the mood to put on her, I'm the perfect daughter in law act.
"Great, I'm sure Taehyun can find something to keep himself busy." She laughed.
