The sun peaked through the gaps in the blinds, leaving lines of white light shooting across the sheets. Soft, feather like blinks, opened Taehyun's eyes, as a sharp pain spread through his arm. He glanced down to see Beomgyu sleeping peacefully, using his arm as a pillow, and one arm thrown over his chest. He found himself smiling.

This was a sight he thought he'd never see again.

The peace didn't last for long, as the ringing from his phone caught his attention. He carefully removed Beomgyu's arm from over his chest, and gently slipped his own arm out from under his head. The boy let out a few incoherent grumbles, but didn't wake up.

He sat up from the bed, grabbing his phone off the bedside table. Instantly his eyes widened, and he gasped. This couldn't be happening. Springing out of bed, he answered the call.

"Taehyun! The sponsor will be here any minute now, where are you?!"

He could hear Yeosang's panic from the other side of the line. It was completely understandable. This meeting was incredibly important, and his father had put all of the pressure on Taehyun. He needed to convince the sponsor to stay with the company, but how was he meant to do that if he's not even there?

"Last night was weird- Ugh...I'll be there as soon as I can." He had no time to explain, he just had to get to that meeting.

"I'll try to stall for you."

"Thank you." He hung up, immediately calling an uber straight after.

He was still dressed in his clothes from yesterday, but it's not like he had time to change. This would have to do. At least it was still work wear.

He took one last look at Beomgyu, his eyes lingering like they couldn't bare to look away. He was so beautiful, in every way. His delicate features, and soft whimpers. How his hair was slightly ruffled from sleep. He was precious to Taehyun, which was why it was so difficult to see him fall down this path of self destruction.

What Beomgyu did with his life was none of his business.

He couldn't accept that.

There was no more time to waste, he had to go. Tearing his eyes off of Beomgyu, he twisted the door handle, and left the bedroom.

The living room/kitchen was engulfed in daylight, and he could see everything so clearly. This place really was a mess. The shattered glass, the stained carpet, the cigarette burns on the couch Soobin was currently sleeping on.

Soobin?

Why was he still here?

Taehyun's presence must have awoken him, as he slowly fluttered his eyes open, squinting at the sun pouring into the room. "Tae? Where are you going?" He asked in a groggy morning voice.

"I have to get to work, how come you're still here?"

"I was scared Beomgyu might come down from his high, and freak out that you're here." That made sense. "Do you want me to drive you?"

"No, I called an uber. I better go now."

"Okay, have a good day."
