Beomgyu stared up in awe, this house was bigger than his entire apartment complex. Of course he knew about Taehyun's wealth, but coming face to face with it was a different story. If this was only his cousins house, he wondered what's Taehyun's own could be like.
Taehyun squeezed his hand gently, catching his gaze. "You ready?"
"Mmm sure." Beomgyu muttered, ignoring the butterflies in his stomach.
Just one night. He could act like he belongs. Taehyun would be right by his side.
Hand in hand, the two boys ambled towards the large house. Stopping right outside the huge, dark stained, mahogany doors. Taehyun leaned forward, taking hold of the large brass knocker, and letting it clang against the metal panel.
A few seconds pass. The door slowly opens, and Beomgyu instantly feels the warmth in his hand disappear. His heart drops to his stomach. It was a moment of realization, he needed to remember that no one could know. Taehyun wasn't meant to date people like him.
"Hey Tae! Who's this?" A tall, curly brunette stood at the door, with the brightest smile plastered on his face. He looked harmless. It was a nice change from the people he usually surrounded himself with.
"My friend Beomgyu. He wanted to come study with us." Taehyun replied, but hearing the word 'friend' stung.
"Oh cool, I'm Kai." The boy introduced excitedly, quickly turning his attention to his cousin. "It's nice to see you have more friends than just that groundskeeper boy. He's a bit rough, don't you think?"
Rough. He normally heard that about himself. Though, tonight he looked completely different. With Taehyun's advice, he managed to clean himself up. Actually brushed his hair for once, and borrowed one of his mums cardigans. He hadn't necessarily sold it to himself, but Taehyun's cousin seemed to buy it.
"Can we come in?" Taehyun avoided addressing Kai's comments, and the boy didn't seem to care. Only stepping aside to let them in.
It was even nicer inside.
Kai led them through his house, to what appeared to be a small library. Dark wooden shelves lined three of the walls, each completely filled with books. There had to be thousands in there. The other wall had a grand fireplace, that was currently alight, warming up this dark room. In the center was a red chesterfield sofa, with two matching arm chairs, and a low table.
There were three boys currently in there.
The blonde sat on the floor, had been scribbling something down in a book laying on the table. When he heard footsteps, he glanced up. "You brought someone new? How exciting!" He squealed.
"This is Beomgyu." Kai said, heading into the room. He slumped down on one of the arm chairs, gesturing for Taehyun and Beomgyu to follow.
Another one of the boys looked up in curiosity. "What school do you go to?"
"Innie! Introduce yourself first!" The blonde snapped, eyes following Beomgyu as he took a seat with Taehyun on the sofa. "I'm Felix, it's nice to meet you."
"And I'm Jeongin." The other chimed.
"Seungmin." The last boy stated, not bothering to look up from the book in his lap.
