"Guys! You'll never believe who just called me!" Yeji squealed at the top of her lungs, running into the rehearsal space.
"Can you keep your voice down lady? Some of us are still hungover." Wooyoung groaned, covering his ears. That pounding sensation worsening after Yeji's squeal.
The woman rolled her eyes, ignoring Wooyoung. "It was Chaotic Wonderland! They want us to be regulars! We have our first proper gig on Saturday!"
"Are you sure? You didn't mishear them or anything." Yeonjun doubted, garnering a moan Yeji.
"I'm not deaf Yeonjun, I know what I heard." She replied, brightening up again when thinking back to the call. "They were really impressed with us, and apparently, people keep asking about when we're performing again. We were such a hit, they had no choice but to bring us back!"
Beomgyu smiled to himself, until he heard another, much loader moan come from Yeji. He glanced to the woman, who seemed to be growing more frustrated.
"You could be more excited you know!"
"I'm just shocked." Yeonjun mumbled out, his lips curving more as reality set in. He dropped his drumsticks onto his kit, getting to his feet. "This is fucking sick! We're actually gonna be Chaotic Wonderland regulars."
"And the pay's great." Wooyoung added. "I might actually get to quit one of my shitty jobs."
"Same here." Yeji chuckled, gaze shifting to the only band member who hadn't spoken yet. With how Beomgyu had been acting lately, there was no surprise there. "Gyu? You don't seem excited."
"No, I am." He muttered out, in a way that felt quite impersonal.
He really wasn't ever present now a days, always off in his own thoughts. It was all Kang Taehyun's fault, for coming back into his life, and fucking everything up. Now all he could was think about the blonde, and over analyse every little thing he did.
His three band mates silently glanced around at each other, with Yeonjun whispering that he'll talk to Beomgyu. The other two nodded, leaving the practice under the disguise of a smoke break.
Yeonjun took a deep breath in. "There's something on your mind, huh?"
The younger didn't reply, only slumping down onto the ground, he leaned against one of the speakers. It wasn't long til Yeonjun joined him on the floor.
"You don't like speaking about your feelings, I get it, but this is getting a bit extreme now Gyu, don't you think?" Yeonjun spoke calmly, doing his best to keep Beomgyu under control. One slip up and the man would leave. "Is it Yoongi? Or the band? Or Taehyun perhaps?" He chuckled at how Beomgyu visibly twitched at the mention of Taehyun. "So it is Taehyun, ever gonna tell me what's going on between you two. If not, at least tell me why he punched me."
All Beomgyu had been taught growing up, was that he had to look out for himself. The world wasn't just going to hand you happiness if you cry. He learnt to adapt to the world around him, find his own ways of coping. It didn't include talking about your feelings, because everyone was already depressed enough.
Even though he trusted Yeonjun, it was still strange for him to open up. There was only one person he had ever confided in before, and that person broke his heart.
"I really, really hate him." Beomgyu sighed, dropping his head back, it rested just on top of the speaker. His eyes stared up at the cracked ceiling, eyes trailing along each dark curve.
He'd learnt five years ago, what it felt like to share the burden.
"Why do you hate him?"
It was relieving to not have to deal with everything on his own.
"He's my ex boyfriend."

Beomgyu cuddled into the warmth of his sheets, shuffling around, and reaching out across the white cotton. His eyes fluttered open, at the realization that Taehyun was missing. He scrunched his face in confusion, his half awake self rolling onto his back. The cracked ceiling stared down at him, as the sound of running water finally registered in his ears.
To pass the time, he grabbed his phone, scoffing at the time presented.
"Awake at 7 am on a Sunday, what are you doing to me Kang Taehyun?"
The water switched off, with Taehyun walking in moments later, wrapped only in a towel. His brown hair was damp, trickling droplets of water down his exposed chest. Beomgyu's heart skipped a beat, sucking in a breath, he tore his eyes away.
"You should get some more sleep, it's not like you to be awake at this time of day." Taehyun chuckled quietly, still being considerate of Beomgyu's mother, who was sleeping next door. He walked over the Beomgyu's closet, grabbing out a set of clothes.
"I can function just fine at this time actually, how do you think I cope at school?" Beomgyu snapped back playfully.
"You hardly ever go." Taehyun glanced to him knowingly, slipping on his boxers, without caring that Beomgyu could see. He was his boyfriend after all, they were comfortable around each other.
"I haven't missed a day in three weeks." Beomgyu scoffed.
"You want a medal?" Taehyun asked sarcastically, pulling up his tapered trousers. "Hate to break it to you, but it's actually what you're meant to do."
"Still, It's good for me."
Taehyun smiled gently, admiring the pretty boy in the sheets. He'd give anything to crawl back in there, and spend the day cuddling. But unfortunately, life had other plans for him. He pulled on his white shirt, beginning to button it up.
"Have you really got to go?" Beomgyu whined, reaching his arms out towards Taehyun.
"I do." Taehyun replied softly, grabbing one of the boys hands. "I'll call you later tonight though."
"Mmm not good enough." Beomgyu huffed. "I want you to stay with me."
"So clingy." Taehyun laughed, sitting himself on the edge of the bed. He gently ran his hand through the boys black locks.
"It's because I love you."
