He didn't know how he was going to survive his life now that he was no longer apart of their lives. The lives of people he only knew for a few years that somehow became such a prominent  part of his life. But Zane was never coming back, Cole and Nya both hated his guts, and Kai and Lloyd couldn't help but look at him in pity.

He was tired of everyone looking at him in that way. He didn't deserve it. Not after the way that he reacted. Not after the way he broke the team up. He was the one that caused it, wasn't he? Of course, he didn't kill Zane, but he was responsible for the divide in the team. Because of the way he reacted.

And now he was looking out the window of his bare apartment and watching all of the civilians of Ninjago's life go on while his own life was drowning in a dark abyss. He was supposed to be captain of his own life, and yet, he felt as though he was held captive, thrown in a cage, and forced to watch it all. Watch it all fall further and further down into water where it wouldn't come back.

'But you deserve it.'

He knew that he deserved it. That was why the voice in the back of his mind wouldn't leave him alone. Because he caused the team to drift apart. He gave up on them. He gave up on himself. He left to save himself, and that just proved that he was a coward.

And now, he found himself stuck. Found himself stuck in memories of what was once the glory days. The days where everything in his life somehow already fit into place. Where he was actually appreciated and wanted. Where he had found people that he loved and that he thought loved him back. How naïve he was to believe such a silly lie.

But he couldn't go back. He didn't want to go back, not to that cold place. Not to where he would be sitting alone in his bedroom while the words of the others would bounce around the walls, stabbing him like knife wounds. He needed to do that for himself. Just this once, he needed to be selfish. Just this once.

Which is why he now found himself sitting in the office with his agent as they were talking to NGTV for a pitch to a new show. It wouldn't be difficult, and it would be popular. It would be popular because the host was popular. Because he was popular.

And as soon as they realized that they were right, he watched how their eyes lit up in the prospect of the income that they would receive. He absolutely hated it. He hated that it was all that they actually cared about, but he couldn't find himself to back out now. He needed a job to support himself, and no other profession would hire him.

Acting couldn't have been that hard considering that was what he did on a daily basis now anyway.

"You have yourself a show, Mr. Walker. When do you think you will be ready to get this thing up and rolling?" The executive asked, looking down on him expectantly.

"I'll be ready by the end of the week. That is when you will be able to get the course all completed, right?" Jay asked, though he felt like he was signing his soul to the devil.

"Yes of course, though we also need to worry about getting promotion out for it. We need to have this show be a success." The executive replied, clearly thinking about how much money the would have to waste on promoting this show.

"I can put up information about it on my Social Media pages. Cassandra can get a media announcement set up for tomorrow where I can answer questions and promote it. Seeing as how I have a popular following, those 2 things should be good enough to get a huge showing." Jay said looking to Cassandra in confirmation.

"That would be correct. I am already planning it and putting it into your schedule as we speak, Jason." Jay had to hold back a flinch as he nodded appreciatively towards her.

"Well, I think that settles it. It will be nice working with you...." Jay said, though realizing he didn't have name with a face.

"Benjamin, but you can just call me Benny." The man said, and Jay smiled as he shook his hand.
