Miraculous AU

This one might take some explaining if you aren't familiar with Miraculous, so if you don't understand the premises of that, then here that is:

*Basically, 2 people work together, but they don't realize it. One person has feelings for the friend, which also works with them, but they don't know that. The other person has feelings for the coworker, not knowing that the person is actually the friend. So basically, just a bunch of messy situations that could be solved if secret identities didn't have to exist *

That is basically all of the information that you need for this one, so without further ado, lets get into this one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes, a mask is freeing.

At least, that was what it was like for him.

Being the son of the most famous Actor in Ninjago was a prison in itself. The responsibilities in that... In keeping up with that image... It was hard. It was hard not being able to be yourself. The feeling that you are never going to live up to the expectations of others, of your own bloodline, it was something that he wouldn't wish upon anyone.

And that was a life that he had to live with for several years. A life that had gotten worse when his Mother suddenly passed. Because at least his Mother understood and tried her hardest to make sure that he had as normal of a childhood that he could. That was something that his Father took away from him the minute she died.

But, it did get better. It got better when he was mysteriously given a ring that let him harness the Elemental Power of Lightning. A ring that he quickly realized was given to him because of a crazy power hungry Oni that started to terrorize his City. A ring that brought him to the love of his life, even if she didn't see him in that way.

It was all worth it in the end. It didn't matter if he had to wear a mask when he was Jason Gordon. That mask could be taken off when he had to put on the other one. The one that allowed him freedom. The one that allowed him to actually be part of society. And it was worth it when he got to see her.

The Master of Water. A girl who he thought had the greatest smile in the whole world. Who was confident and sassy and... And well was someone that wasn't trying to impress him. Not in the way that he had to deal when he was the son of a famous Actor.

Because the relationship that they had was solely based on pure respect and trust. Because they had an understanding. Because they had a purpose. A purpose to keep Ninjago safe. A purpose that... A purpose that he just simply didn't have when he was Jason Gordon.

However, sometimes the job that they had caused them to fight. To have big fights. Fights that probably would have ended their friendship multiple times if they didn't have purpose of protecting Ninjago. Of making sure that Ninjago could live to see another day.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT!" The Master of Water shouted, and Jay felt himself flinch in his mask.

And that was because what had happened was probably not his greatest move that he has ever made. So he might have a gash on his side. So blood might be leaking out. But, that didn't matter to him.

It didn't matter to him because she was okay.

"Look, this has always been the way it needs to be. It doesn't matter as long as---" Jay tried to calm her down with a quieter voice.

"YOU MATTER, YOU IDIOT. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT THIS IS FUN FOR ME? WHY DO YOU MAKE THIS A GAME, HUH? BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A  FUCKING GAME. YOU'RE LIFE IS NOT A FUCKING GAME!" The Master of Water cut him off, and Jay took a deep breath, trying to calm his shaking body.
