Bond is Sometimes Better Than Blood

When Nya woke up, to say that she was confused was an understatement. She didn't remember much from last night, besides the fact that they had defeated the Oni. That, and that she had barely left Jay's side. Nya's stare instantly fell to her chest. The medallion was still there on her chest, the dragon symbol still there. Nya couldn't help but smile. They had already come far, but this took them to another level. 

IT was then that she noticed the arm that was wrapped around her chest. She realized that Jay hadn't left her side, but that the had ended up sleeping together instead in the living room on the couch. This moment seemed perfect, even if one of them was dead asleep. They didn't have too many times where they could be like this. Without Kai or her parents breathing down their necks. Nya bent down and lightly kissed Jay on the lips.

"Good morning. How long have you been awake?" Jay mumbled with a smile, sleep still evident in his voice.

"Good morning. Not very long. I would say 15 minutes tops." Nya replied as she returned Jay's smile.

"We don't get enough days like this, do we? Where we can just be Jay and Nya without Ninjago on our shoulders." Jay started as he kissed Nya's cheek and laid back down.

"Or where we don't have Kai or my parents watching our every move." Nya finished as she laid her head down on his chest.

"I would put a pin in that idea. I hear that someone is up, and I am going to bet 50 that it is that little party pooper." Jay replied as he smiled at the nickname that he had given Kai.

Sure enough, Kai came out of the bedroom. He had walked slowly out, and looked dead with the world. It was clear that he didn't want to be up at whatever time it was. The fact he was even up at this point was completely shocking. He was the one that partied the hardest last night, and that probably had something to do with the fact that Skylor had ended up coming, so it had made his day.

"Good morning, Big Brother." Nya decided to reply when Kai came and just stared ant Jay and herself.

"Don't remind me." Kai finally replied as he came and sat down next to us.

"I would have thought that you would have been in a good mood seeing as how your red headed princess ended up coming to the ball after all." Jay said as he looked in concern at Kai's current state.

"Not everyone gets to have their girlfriend living with them, Jay. I was in a good mood, but then she left, and now I am deeply depressed." Kai groaned as he looked over to Jay with an irritated look.

"You should really just move in with her, or better yet, ask her to move in with us. You are over at her house like half of the time anyway. You always get like this when either you have to leave, or she leaves." Nya said as she shook her head.

"And leave you and Walker here together? By yourselves? No way. Besides, what happens when Ninjago is under attack?" Kai asked as he looked in Jay and Nya's direction.

"You leave us here by ourselves half of the time anyway. Then, Jay and I have our own fun the minute you leave. We generally look forward to when you leave because of that." Nya stated as she glared at her brother.

"You spawn your Elemental Dragon and fly over here? You ask her to in with us so that you aren't missing any action? You know, like we just said?" Jay said as he flailed his arms in the air.

"Whatever, Walker, Nya. You don't understand what it is like to live apart from someone you love." Kai snapped as he folded his arms.

Jay fell silent at that. He didn't know what to say to that. He couldn't come up with a witty remark because what he had said was so far from the truth. He had to live 2 years without Nya, and that wasn't including the 2 weeks they had spent apart on different realms. One of those years, he was already fighting depression over what happened to Zane. Now though, he couldn't imagine life without her. When they were separated, he wasn't lying when he said it felt like half of him was missing. She contributed so much to his life just by being there.
