Catastrophizing Is Never A Good Thing

"Come on Jay! Please?" Nya begged him, latching onto his arm.

"Absolutely not!" Jay freaked out, turning to look at her with wide eyes.

Jay knew that this conversation was a long time coming. With Ray and Maya being rescued from the Time Twins, it was only a matter of time before he was requested to meet them. After all, he was dating their daughter. But he did not want to meet them. Especially not Ray.

Ray was absolutely terrifying. 

And Maya... Well, Jay wasn't quite sure how he felt about Maya. Sure, he respected her as Nya's Mother as well as the previous Elemental Master of Water, but she had this weird glint in her eyes. A glint that appeared the minute she realized that he and Nya were more than just teammates. And he didn't trust that glint in her eyes. Especially when he has seen a very familiar glint in Edna's eyes every single time that she has seen him and Nya since they had gotten back together.

And that was the other thing that scared him.

Because if he met Ray and Maya, then that would mean that it was only a matter of time before he would have to introduce Ed and Edna to them. Which while he and Nya were in a very serious relationship, and they both know they were never breaking up again, this would mean that this would then get signaled to both of their parents.

He loved his parents, but they also loved to overshare. 

Also, Edna seemed to have no filter whatsoever.

"Come on, Jay. They want to meet you. You can't keep putting this off." Nya said with a sigh.

"I have met them." Jay answered stubbornly.

"Yeah, when they didn't know that you were my boyfriend! Because as much as you love screaming about the fact that I am your girlfriend to all of Ninjago, your mind seemed to have shut down on the people that should probably know as much." Nya grumbled angerly. 

"Also, Facetiming doesn't count, so don't even try that." Nya cut him off when Jay started to open his mouth to retort.

Jay opened and closed his mouth for a minute before turning to glare at her when he came up with a response to that.

"Yes, because I am sure that it would have totally went well if I literally went and said, 'Hi Mr. and Mrs. Smith. My name is Jay, and you don't know who I am, but you should know that I am banging your daughter.'" Jay talked back, looking at Nya with an exasperated expression.

And Nya didn't say anything for a minute, And Jay could tell that she was trying to come up with some sort of comeback to that statement, as well as processing what he said.

"Well obviously you wouldn't tell them that!" Nya yelled as she threw her hands up in the air.

"Hey, this doesn't just fall on me! You could have totally told them the truth about our relationship too. And if I'm remembering correctly, they didn't find out about our relationship from you either!" Jay shot back, and he watched as Nya's expression turned sheepish.

This was actually a very true statement. Ray and Maya didn't find out about their relationship from either of them. They had found out about it on Kai's third visit to the Blacksmith shop, to which Kai brought them 'Jaya merch' to join him and the rest of Ninjago in the shipping wars. This quickly turned into an embarrassing confession for Kai, who had to then tell them about the relationship.

This then led to an immediate phone call from Maya, squealing into the phone about how she had at least had one decent kid in a relationship. Of course, this phone call happened during a make out session, and Jay had tried to suffocate himself into Nya's pillows when Maya was talking about that she was glad that they were clearly being safe. Nya, unfortunately, wouldn't let him end his life in that moment, because now he was having to deal with this inevitable encounter with her parents that he himself was not looking forward to at all.
