Chapter 1

It was 6:30AM and I was waking up to my beautiful wife Meredith Grey making breakfast for our 2 awesome kids. we had been married 5 years (7 in our post it wedding ) today and we are stronger than ever. I got up and got dressed into her favourite suit that I wore on the day of our first date I went through to the kitchen quietly so she wouldn't hear me. I snuck up behind her and pulled her in to me "morning beautiful" I said burying my head into her neck and kissing it "well good morning mcdreamy your all happy this morning" she said turning round to face me "well today is the anniversary of the happiest day of my life, so happy anniversary" I said leaning over to kiss her "happy anniversary to you too" I placed my lips on hers they were warm and soft "daddy!!!" Zola said running in with a picture "I'll go get Bailey" Meredith said patting my shoulder. "So what is this honey" I asked picking up Zola "it's you and mommy helping a man" Zola said pointing to the picture "hey Mer you go get ready I'll get the kids in the car" I said taking Bailey off of Meredith "c'mon Zola lets get you in the car shall we" I said opening the door. Once I got the kids in the car I went inside to collect the kids bag and Meredith came out of the bedroom in the tight red dress I bought her for Christmas a couple of years ago that she had never wore. "Yep I made the right decision" I said looking Meredith up and down in shock I put the bag down and went over too her. I put my hands on her waist and kissed her she put her hands around my neck as we started to kiss more then we realised that if we did it any longer we would be late so I pulled away " you truly are beautiful Meredith Grey" I said looking in her eyes "you truly are mcdreamy Derek Sheperd" she said kissing my lips softly.
We got out the car and got the kids out too we walked into the front hall and Callie and Arizona were standing at the desk. We got over to them "morning ladies" I said smiling "why do you both look so hot" Callie asked "well it's our 5 year anniversary today and we're going out to dinner later so we dressed up fancy" Meredith replied. "Who is looking after Zola and Bailey" Arizona asked "well we were kind of hoping either you guys or Maggie could take them" I asked while having my nose ripped off by my 1 year old son "yea we'll take them" they both said in sync with each other. "Ok then" I said while still being attacked "we will pick them up with Sofia later have a good night" Callie said with a smile on her face. I let Meredith go get ready for work by taking the kids to daycare then I went to swap my suit jacket for my lab coat, I didn't need scrubs this morning since I had no surgeries but I had a pair ready incase a trauma came in. I. Was standing at one of the nurse stations when Meredith came up next to me and asked to talk in private. When we got in there Meredith threw me against the door and started to kiss me "what are you doing?" I asked mid kissing "well I could resist how hot you look in that shirt and tie and your hair today hmmm" she said stroking my hair we had finally moved onto the bed when my pager went of "Bailey 911" I said looking at my pager "don't go please" Meredith said grabbing my tie and pulling me into her lips as we continued for a minute both of our pagers went off "it must be urgent 911 Bailey and Richard" as we got up we kissed once more and ran out we quickly sprinted down to the ER when we got into the trauma room I was shocked at who the patients were "ADDISON?" I asked confusingly "Derek don't worry about me Sam is much worse" Addison said still shocked by the accident I rushed through to the other room to see that Sam had a shard of glass impaling him " hey Shep what's up?" Sam asked smiling "Sam what happened?" I asked worried "me and Addison were coming to see you when a car hit the side of us and I went through the glass while Addison hit the bag" Sam said in pain. I ran outside to the ambulance bay to get some fresh air.
