"Izzie what's going on" I asked worried when she came to give me an update
"Well Meredith suffered some blood loss and will have to keep her here for observation for a while"
"What about the baby?"
"Well it turns out you now have a little boy congratulations and you will be able to see Meredith in about 30 mins so if I were you I would go check on your patients until then"
"Thank you so much izzie" I said getting up and hugging her as I was paged 911 to the ER
"What do we got"
"29 year old male jumped out of a moving car and hit his head on the curb what do you want to do shepered" I looked at the patients eyes and there was no brain activity
"Nothing"
"Wait a minute nothing?"
"Yea if you look at his eyes there is no brain activity you can do a CT but I don't see the point does he have a family?"
"Yea his wife and son is in the waiting room"
"Wait he has a wife and son and you didn't tell me well then take him up to CT just to be sure because he might have one hell of a haemorrhage I've seen it before so take him up"
"Ok you want to update the family"
"Yea" I replied as I walk away
"Mrs Rogerson"
"Yes over here is my husband ok?" A tall blonde woman said but I felt I recognised her from somewhere
"Well we've taken your husband to CT to check for a haemorrhage because he seemed unresponsive but if he has a haemorrhage it's easily fixed do you want me to sit with you until he's out then you can go see him?
"Yes please if you don't mind we don't have anyone else other than each other and our little boy"
"How old is the little guy" I said as I looked down at the little boy with a tracheostomy
"About 3 months" she replied
"Oh god I remember you now I recognised your husband I'm Dr Sheperd me and Dr grey operated on your little boy"
"Oh I remember now I remember that you and Dr Grey were having a baby when is it due"
"Well she had it a couple of hours ago actually I'm due to go see her after your husband comes out"
"Congratulations"
"Thank you very much" I wanted to continue our conversation but my pager went off
"Your husband I'll be back soon"
I walked over to CT and went in what do we got?"
"Well Sheperd you were partly right it's a brain bleed that's stopping his response can you get it?" Owen asked
"Yea sure can. Admit him and page me when you've finished prepping him for surgery"
"And where are you going?"
"I'm going to go update the wife then I'm going to see mine"
I walked back to the ER "so I was right he has a brain bleed but nothing I can't stop so he should be fine"
"Thank you Derek were on a first name basis now that you've saved the 2 men in my life"
"Your very welcome now I need to go see the new man in my life"
"Yea go and tell Meredith congratulations"
I sprinted up the 4 flights of stairs to Meredith's room too were I saw the most strangest thing......
