Christmas (part 3)

I walked through to the kitchen where Meredith was making coffee while the kids were sitting patiently with Amy and Owen.
"Hey family Merry Christmas" I said making an appearance and the three kids came running over and tackling me to the floor.
When they all had enough of attacking me Meredith came over and helped me up
"Merry Christmas babe" she said placing her hands around my neck
"Merry Christmas Mer" I replied giving her a kiss
I walked over to the couch where Amy and Owen were.
"Merry Christmas little sis" I said giving her a hug
"Merry Christmas to you too big brother" she replied
"Merry Christmas Shep" Owen said placing his hand out for a high five and I gave him one
"Merry Christmas Hunt" I said sitting next to Meredith on the couch and throwing my arm around her.
Once the kids had opened their presents they went up to their rooms to play with it.
When I came down stairs after helping Bailey Meredith was gone.
"Derek, Mer's outside she's not doing to great" Amy said
I grabbed my coat and shoes and walked out into the snow that was quickly falling and I saw Meredith standing at the fence that cut off the edge of the cliff.
"Hey sweetie what's up" I asked
"Nothing I just do this every Christmas I stand for a while and remember George, Mark, Denny, Lexie, My mom, busy Mark and now your mom" she replied placing her head on me
"Well I'm just going to join you" I said placing my arm around her.
"Do your remember the time that I asked Mark to sleep with Cristina just to stop her phoning you in the middle of the night" I said giggling at the thought
"Yea I do because I thought you were crazy"
"Meredith I love this......I love our little family it's just what I wanted and you being my kids mom makes me even happier" I said kissing the side of her head
" I love this too Derek"
We went back inside and waited for the rest of the guests too arrive and we had dinner with the people we love the most.
