when we landed i got a phone call from the hospital
DEREK-Hello Dr Sheperd here
NURSE-Hello Dr Sheperd i am just phoning to tell you that your mom has just came out of her 2nd surgery and i can tell you that she is doing fine so when you get here she will be back in her room the room number is 301 in the ICU
DEREK-ok thank you so much see you soon bye.
when we got the hotel me and Meredith put all of the kids stuff in the room along with ours. we left to go to the hospital but after we put the kids into the car i was at the side Meredith got in and i leaned against the car.
"hey honey whats up" she asked holding my shoulder
"im just thinking about why bad things happen to good people first my dad then George and Izzie then us now Addison sam and my mom what the hell is wrong with the universe"
"Derek honey she will be ok I promise you yes I agree the universe just has a black mark against us but it makes us ten times stronger so keep your head up sweetie ok I need you to be you." She said kissing my cheek then hugging me
"I'll drive" she said grabbing the keys and we got going.

AT THE HOSPITAL
"If she doesn't wake up at lunch time tomorrow were pulling the plug" Nancy said arguing with my 2 other sisters
"ARE YOU HELL UNPLUGGING HER" I said walking in the door
"What's it to you, your never here anyway so why should you have a choice" she said snapping
"I made more of an effort after dad died than you all you did was make moms life harder" I snapped back
"Hey guys what's going on" Meredith said after dropping the kids off at the daycare
"Oh great" Nancy moaned
"Hey Meredith" Lizzie and Kathleen said hugging Meredith and sitting back down
"Hold on you tried your best after dad died, WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU THEN WHEN I WAS GROWING UP"
"Oh sorry excuse me am I not allowed to sort my own head out you do realise me and Amy suffered more than you three no offence Kate and Lizzie but we did"
"How?"
"WE WATCHED HIM GET SHOT RIGHT IN FRONT OF US SO SORRY IF I WANTED TO SORT OUT MY PTSD"
"Well then Mr brainiac where were you the last fifteen years"
"I was in Seattle starting a new life and making a new family"
"What after you cheated on Addison with her" she said looking in disgust
"Nancy we all know that's not true" Lizzie said
"No no no Lizzie it is, so Derek why Meredith what's so special about your 'dirty mistress'"
"Don't talk about my wife like that"
"Oh I'm sorry I'm just not the one that is a brain surgeon but is completely BRAINLESS I just can't wait to see how the kids turn......" She was interrupted by another argument about to break out
"Don't you dare talk about my husband or my kids you have no right to talk about anyone's family because yours isn't so great either why don't we ask your husband what kind of leash you use for him and see what he says"
"Well you....you...you ruined a really nice woman's life after you took away her husband"
"NANCY SHE IS MARRIED AND HAS A 2 YEAR OLD SON NAMED HENRY SO THAT IS HARDLY RUINING HER LIFE" she shouted grabbing DEREKS hand and walking out the door when we got to the front door to the outside she finally spoke
"What the hell I might as well just take the kids and go home because it seems like I'm not wanted"
"No Meredith your not going home i need you here and the rest of my sisters and my mom love you its just because of Addison and me that's why she's like that"
"Meredith, Derek I just want to ehm....say sorry about.....you know the thing"
"No im not accepting you have verbally abused my family for way to long and I'm not going to be soft anymore"
"Ok then so I guess we have a war then the sister vs the dirty mistress" at that point Meredith jumped at her but I managed to get in between them just in time.
"What's going on?" It was Nancy's husband he never liked me mainly because I broke his nose my last Christian before moving to Seattle so no never liked me
"Oh god what do you want" he said pushing me away from Nancy
"Actually the last thing I remember is that the woman in the bed is my mother not yours so back off" I said pushing him back
"Oh really" he said before he started swinging I lost balance but found my footing then started punching him he fell to the ground so I started punching him again when I realised that he was out cold I got up and felt a bit dizzy but Meredith helped me back up to the room.
