Valentines day (part 2)

"you ready to go" i said hugging Meredith
"yea you" she said holding my hand
"yea im good" we got in the car and drove to the beach to have a picnic
"derek what are you doing?" She asked as I took off my tie and unbuttoned my shirt a tiny bit
"Do you realise how warm it is right" I said locking the car
"Yea good point, cmon then"
We walked from one end of the beach to another then we sat down at the edge of the water
"Meredith I was just thinking I wouldn't want to be with anyone here other than you I love you so much and I'm glad your in my life" I said putting my arm around her shoulder and pulling her in
"I love you too sweetie I'm so glad that out of every man in the world your the father to my children and do you want your Valentine's present" she said getting up and looking down at me
"I'm not bothered" I said looking up
She leaned down started moving her head closer to mine pushed me into the sand and ran away I quickly got up and ran after her we got half way down the beach when I managed to grab her and pull her down.
"Seriously" I said tickling her but eventually stopping and lying next to her facing in her direction and she did the same there was know one on the beach so we lay and talked
"So Derek I was wondering when are we going to start trying?"
"Weeelllll we could try later or when we get back to the hospital"
"That's a good idea" she said leaning in to me and kissing me passionately on the lips then laying her head on my chest and we continued to talk when my phone went off
Derek-Hold that thought Mer, Hello Dr Sheperd
Nurse-hello is this Derek Sheperd
Derek-yes it is what's going on
nurse-well I'm afraid to tell you that your mother was in a terrible accident her car was hit by another car and she went tumbling over she is in surgery now but your sister told me to tell you that you and Amelia better get here quick.
Meredith could see that I was starting to tear up she signalled a what's going on look
Derek-well ok thanks be there as quick as we can bye.
"Derek what's going on?"
"My mom was in a car crash and Lizzie said that we better get there quick"
"Ok then let's go get packed grab the kids then go"
We got up and ran to the car and drove home. When we got home I informed Amy and told her to get ready to leave straight away because she still had clothes at moms house because she never knew when she'd be back and we got on the next flight out with the kids.
