"Derek we have some bad news" Callie said walking into my room
"What's wrong" I asked lifting my head
"Well Meredith's car was hit by another car she's in surgery just now Nelson is operating I just came back from her surgery on her leg we almost had to take it off but we managed to salvage it"
"Why is nelson operating"
"She has a minor brain bleed but nelson is closing up now."
"When will I be able to see her"
"In about half an hour. Where are the kids"
"Oh god the kids there with Amelia and the nanny"
"Do you want them here?" She asked
"No I don't want them to see Mer like this when she wakes up then yea but not like this"

Callie walked out to go see other patients and I lay in bed looking at the pictures of Mer on my phone killing some time.
5 hours later
"D...d...Derek are you there" a voice so beautiful said waking me up
"Meredith your alive" I said sitting up in my wheelchair
"Yes I'm alive you spoon why wouldn't I be you wouldn't be able to look after the kids without me"
"Well I know your fine with the fact that your committing verbal spousal abuse"
"Come here" she said giggling as I leaned in and kissed her in a sign of relief that she was ok
