5 MONTHS LATER

"Hey Derek can you phone your mom?" Meredith asked walking outside
"Yea sure why?" I said looking at her
"Because I'm sort of in labour" she shouted at the last part
I quickly took her hand and walked her to the car then ran back inside to tell Amy what's going on and we went to the hospital. When we got there we immediately got into a room and Meredith started to make a really funny labour noise that I found hilarious.
"What are you laughing at?" She asked
"Nothing definitely not your cute little noises" I said trying to keep a straight face and see threw a pillow at me
"Your not funny........have you phoned your mom"
"No I'm not funny but you are and yes" I said making her crack a smile
"You know that's the first genuine smile I've seen you pull in so long you've been that stressed"
"Well 2 kids being pregnant and being a doctor does make you stressed and also having a husband who acts like a 4 year old" she joked and I giggled slightly
6 HOURS LATER
Meredith has just finished giving labour she gave birth to a healthy baby girl who doesn't have a name yet.
"So what we gonna call our gorgeous girl?" She asked
"What about Lexie Carolyn Grey Shepherd" I replied
"Are you ok about that?" She asked holding my arm
"Yea I'm gonna go get my mom" I said walking out of the room
"Hey son do we have a baby yet" she said getting up
"Hey mom want to come meet your granddaughter" I asked
we walked into the room and I gave my mom Lexie
"Mom meet Lexie Carolyn Grey Shepherd" I said while she teared up moving onto the couch while I hopped up next to Mer giving her a break and letting her go to sleep
"She's beautiful" my mom said kissing her head
