I was the book nerd of the school. I wasn't ashamed of it in any way, but it did prevent me from having friends.
Then this guy comes. He's super hot, and -- as far as I know -- single. His name is Jason Grace. He's so gorgeous that it's dreamy. Jason has lovely blond hair that is tamed to perfection. His eyes are a crystal blue that I've never been able to admire up close.
I was walking to school when I saw the jerk jock of the school, Gustavo Shelton. He was strong and gorgeously hot and he knew it. He was super bitter because his girlfriend Layla broke up with him because she liked Jason. But honestly, who could blame her?
Of course, I saw him everyday because his house was just next door to mine. But this time, his fists were clenched and I could tell he was about to blow a fuse.
When we got to school, Jason was there talking to the Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner. They smiled at each other and were laughing. I wanted to know what they were talking about. But then Gustavo (Gus) walked up to them and Mr. Brunner went to prepare his next class.
I stepped closer to hear what they were saying.
"Hey, man, I'm having a party at my place tonight. Wanna come?" Gus asked. I knew there was no party by the way everyone quieted down. Gus was probably just forming an evil plan to humiliate Jason.
I was relieved when Jason shook his head, "Sorry, but I got plans with my friends tonight."
Gus snorted, "Okay, then, can I tag along? I mean, you must know some pretty hot girls, right?"
"Um, sorry but no, you can't tag along. Listen, I gotta get to class."
The next day, I walked in and saw all the girls crying I walked up to one of them.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Ja — ason isn't co — coming to — to sch —school after to — today." She sobbed.
I felt like crying myself.
That afternoon I was about to start walking home but then a Jeep pulled up and stepped out the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
She had long curvy legs, a slim waist, and long, choppy, brown hair that looked like she tried to cut it herself. Her face was perfect and devoid of makeup. She looked like she tried not to be pretty but couldn't help it.
She walked towards the school entrance but Gus intercepted her, "Hey baby, what's up?"
She scoffed, "Your ego, apparently."
She tried to sidestep him put he blocked her again.
"You know the school day's over, but I could walk you home."
She rolled her eyes, "No shit, Sherlock. I know the school day's over. I'm here to pick someone up."
She shoved past him and walked right into the school.
She walked out with Jason. My eyes narrowed when I noticed Jason's arm around her.
Gus blocked her again, "You know, I don't have your number, sweetheart."
"Oh," the girl responded, "it's (909)-I-have-a-boyfriend-6098."
"Gus, leave Piper the fuck alone." Jason said, his voice scarily steady.
"Oh, so your name's Piper."
"Alright, I'm over this, Gus go make someone else deal with your bullshit."
As though hypnotised, Gus walked over to Amanda and started to chat with her.
