Suzie ignored the stare Sam was giving her from across the room. She didn't even acknowledge her former colleague's presence. Sam Ryder wasn't what she was here for, she was here for Gwen Cooper, the new girl, the one Jack had apparently promptly replaced her with after she'd died.
"You don't seem surprised that you're alive again." Sam grumbled.
Suzie didn't respond.
"Ey," Sam said, with an edge to her voice, "look at me when I'm talking to you."
"You're acting like I'm your prisoner." Suzie mused with a sly smile, still not looking at her.
"For right now, you better fucking believe you are."
"I would say 'oh Sam, don't you remember when we used to be friends?', but I suppose that never really happened, did it?"
Now Suzie turned her head, just in time to see Sam cringe slightly, though her expression remained dark and stormy.
"Well you sure as hell aren't my friend now," she growled softly, "not after what you've caused."
"I couldn't have caused anything. I was dead. Remember?"
Suzie made a gun with her fingers and pointed it to her chin, where there was still a bloodied gunshot wound, then pretended to pull the trigger, grinning the whole time.
"Have you lost your mind?" Sam demanded, "actually no, don't answer that. You obviously did when you blew your brains out the back of your skull."
"I see you haven't changed a bit, Sam."
"Shut up. I have changed, for your information, but I decide who I change for, and I sure as hell am not changing for you."
Suzie snickered.
"Pity." She said simply, then turned her head away from Sam again.
Sam closed her eyes and sighed quietly, deciding to try a different tactic.
"Listen. I'm sorry, okay? And to be honest, out of everyone on the team, I... I liked you the most. You're spunky and smart and funny... or at least you were. I thought we were starting to become friends before you died, and y'know what? When I found out... about what you did to yourself... I went home that night and I cried. I cried for you, Suzie. But the way you're acting now is making me start to wonder if those tears were wasted... are you gonna try and change my mind? Show me the person you used to be?"
"No," Suzie responded coldly, "obviously those tears were wasted now that you've got somebody else to cry over, you all moved on from me pretty fast, didn't you?"
"You mean Gwen?" Sam demanded, "she wasn't a replacement for you, y'know. And she's not like you at all either."
"You like her better than me?"
"Absolutely not."
"So you don't like her at all, then?"
Sam's answer was cut off as Gwen came down the stairs into the interrogation room with a glass of milk and plate of chocolate chip cookies on a tray.
"Oh, speak of the devil," Suzie murmured, "we were just talking about you."
Gwen stared at her for a second, then turned to look at Sam, who quickly averted her eyes and instead looked at her feet.
"Biscuits and milk?" Suzie went on with a sarcastic sneer, "how sweet. Did you bake them yourself?"
Gwen didn't answer, just moved the plate to reveal a slip of paper underneath with the words 'I'm going to get you out of here' scribbled on it.
"We might need some brawn for that." Suzie commented.
They stared at each other, then both looked to Sam, who's eyes widened with a sudden nervousness that was rather uncommon for her.
"No," she said sternly, "whatever you're planning, I'm not taking part."
"She just wants to see her father, Sam," Gwen murmured urgently, "we could really use your help."
"Plus, since you're such a changed person now, I know you'd tell on us immediately," Suzie added darkly, "and we can't have that, can we, Gwen?"
"I thought you hated her!" Sam exclaimed, pointing at Gwen, "are you two hearing yourselves?! There's no way I'm letting this happen!"
"Sam, just do something good in your life for once!" Gwen snapped.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKIN' ABOUT?" Sam shouted, stepping closer to her, "she's getting inside your head, Gwen, and I'll fight both of you if I have to!"
Suzie saw her chance and immediately leaped to her feet, jabbing the device she'd swiped from Tosh's desk before being dragged down here into the centre of Sam's back. Sam screeched as a bolt of electricity ran through her body, making her spasm.
"Sam!" Gwen gasped as Sam toppled over and hit the floor, unconscious. Gwen looked to Suzie. "What did you-?"
Suzie held up the clever little device with a smirk.
"Ianto's new contraption," she murmured, "what does he call it? A 'stun gun'? I was sure he could do better. But seeing as I'm getting stronger by the minute, I figured there was no reason I couldn't borrow it."
Her knees suddenly gave out and Gwen rushed to break her fall.
"You're not that strong yet." She murmured, helping her back into the wheelchair she'd been sitting in.
"It appears you're right," Suzie grunted, "that means you'll have to help both of us to your car."
"Both of us?"
Suzie nodded her head at the unconscious Sam.
"We can't take her with us!" Gwen exclaimed, wondering frantically if she could even move Sam's massive body.
"We have to," Suzie hissed, "she knows what you're going to do and if she wakes up before we get out of here and get far enough away our only chance of escape is ruined. But if you're looking for other options, you could just kill her."
"No!" Gwen said, a little more quickly than she'd wanted to, "we're not killing anybody! I'll find a way to get her to my car without anyone seeing."
Suzie nodded slowly, a smirk curling the corner of her mouth.
"Good girl." She purred icily.
