I was sleeping peacefully until my phone rang, I grudgingly took the phone and picked the call.
"Hello" I said
"Tanimola" the voice I heard was that of Doyin but this is not her number so for confirmation I asked
"Please, who is this?"
"You are asking me that question" she said and snorted
"And why won't I ask, I don't even have this number saved" I replied
"Wahoo, you don't have my number saved on your phone" she said
"Am I supposed to?" I said and rolled my eyes even though I know she can't see me
"Anyway, I have lots of important thing to do so I'll go straight to the point"
"Thank you"
"It's Doyin" she said and stopped talking
"Okkkkkkk and how may I help you" I said
"Are you ok?" She asked in an harsh tone
"Of course I'm perfectly alright, so to what do I owe this call" I said.
"I got you that phone and now I'm calling you to talk to you you're indirectly insulting me with the phone I got for you" she said and I laughed
"Do you want the phone back? Wait is that why you called to remind me you got me a phone" I said
"You're very stupid" she said
"I know" I replied
"I've told you all to leave me alone, ehn let me be is that too much to ask for again " I said getting frustrated already.
She laughed and said " wait... What are you feeling like, you think I called you to bother you. I just wanted to confirm if you're still breathing"
"Well now you've confirmed, I'm still breathing so can you please hang up now" I said in a cracked low voice.
"Of course I will, thanks to the bad way you treated my darling husband I can't invite any of my siblings over again. You are just good in ruining things bastard". She said and hung up immediately.
"At least I'm good at something, it's better than being good at nothing". I breathe in deeply.
I don't even understand again well very soon hopefully I'll be out of this country and by God's grace nothing evil will happen to me or any one of them.
"Tanimola, see daddy said we should start packing o we're leaving tomorrow morning" Richard said from outside my room door.
"Really, we're leaving tomorrow?" I asked as I opened the door
"Yes na tomorrow is a new month na olodo" he said
Wahoo it's a new month already but why am I loosing track of time this days well maybe it's because I have a lot running through my mind recently.
"Ehn ehn I did not know o, but daddy has been telling us to pack since last week so I've packed my bag already" I said
"Pele o most obedient" Richard said sarcastically.
"Iwo lo mo" meaning that's your buisness
"My darling oyoyo jos,my baby" Richard said and I immediately knew he's up to something.
"What do you want" I asked
"You know me too well and it's paining me" he said and pouted.
"Talk oga" I said
"Can't you be romantic?" He said as he rolled his eyes.
"I am baby" I said and winked at him, he just laughed and shook his head.
"Ode" he said
"Me?, you call me ode I no dey help you again" I said and crossed my arms.
"Oya sorry na" he said while rubbing my shoulder
"Beg me very well" I said while pouting
"I should kneel down" he asked and I laughed
"Yes" I said
"Ahn ahn somebody's future husband should kneel down and beg"
"Pele o future husband" I said
"Ok ok if it's that one I'm sorry ok. I want you to help me pack cos I don't know how to pack o make I no go pack rubbish".
"How much will you give me" I asked
"On top say u wan help me fold cloth" he laughed
"Oya I'll pity you, you kuku know that you're my personal person" I said while rubbing his arms and he smiled displaying his white perfect set of teeth.
"Thank you my love, see why I love you and I can't leave you "
"Reallyyyyyyyy" I said
"Of course, oya let's go before you change your mind"
We went to Richards' room to pack his clothes inside the second new traveling box that Mr Coker got for two of us. It still feels surreal that by this time tomorrow I'll be in another country, town, infact another continent.
"Richard" I called his name and looked at him
"Yeah" he answered
"Thank you" I said
"Abeg no start, which one is thank you again for what now" he said
" I know you won't want to hear the thank you, but babe I really appreciate. You've been there for me right from age 3, you've been a shoulder I could lean on, my run to person. Thank you so much "
"You're welcome babe and it's ok " he said
"Alright, I love you" I said
"Awwwwwww, you love me" he asked
"Of course you know I do" I said
"I love you too baby, abi you'll sleep here this night" he asked while winking
"Sleep here ke" I laughed
"Don't start thinking about rubbish o ehn ehn" he said scratching his head nervously.
"Dirty minded human, I'm not thinking about anything" I said
"I'll sleep here" I said
"Really" he said as his face shine bright.
"Yes really" I said
"Thank you" he said grinning like a child who got a gift from Santa.
"Why are you looking so happy" I asked
"I don't know" he said.
"Are you sure" I asked
"Yes, stop asking again o" he said looking everywhere but my face.
"Let's pack jor yeye child" I said.
I couldn't sleep all through the night not cos of Richards snore or the ticking clock or his hands that was wrapped around my waist. But because I was anxious of what's to come . Now my anxiety has reduced, why? Cos we are in the plane already. I was scared at first but now I'm calm
The beginning of a new and interesting chapter of my once sad life.........
