=Choose a Blessed Life=
*Deuteronomy 30:19-20
"19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live
20 and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Curses lead to:
1. Barreness
2. Poverty.
3. Difficulty.
4. Destruction.
5. Sickness.
6. Death.
Kinds of Curses:
1. In relation to God.
+Making and worshipping idols.
*Deuteronomy 27:15
"15 "Cursed is the man who carves an image or casts an idol--a thing detestable to the LORD, the work of the craftsman's hands--and sets it up in secret." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
*Deuteronomy 5:9
"9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
+Rely on works instead of grace for their salvation.
*Galatians 3:10
"10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."
*James 2:10
"10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
613 laws given by God in the Bible.
*Ephesians 2:8-9
"8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
+For not tithing.
*Malachi 3:8-9
"8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. "But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings.
9 You are under a curse--the whole nation of you--because you are robbing me."
+Who does not love the Lord.
*1 Corinthians 16:22
"22 If anyone does not love the Lord--a curse be on him. Come, O Lord!
2. In relation to other people.
+Who cursed God's annointed people/leaders.
*Genesis 27:29
"29 May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed."
+Dishonoring parents
*Deuteronomy 27:16
"16 "Cursed is the man who dishonors his father or his mother." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
•dishonor: bring shame or disgrace on.
*Exodus 20:12
"12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
+Cheater.
*Deuteronomy 27:17
"17 "Cursed is the man who moves his neighbor's boundary stone." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
*Leviticus 19:13
"13 " 'Do not defraud your neighbor or rob him. " 'Do not hold back the wages of a hired man overnight.
"Cheating on a good person is like throwing away a diamond and picking up a rock."
+Leading the blind astray.
*Deuteronomy 27:18
"18 "Cursed is the man who leads the blind astray on the road." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
*Exodus 20:3-17
"3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."
+Being unjust to the weak.
*Deuteronomy 27:19
"19 "Cursed is the man who withholds justice from the alien, the fatherless or the widow." Then all the people shall say, "Amen!"
*Deuteronomy 24:15
"15 Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
+Being wicked.
*Deuteronomy 33:3
"3 Surely it is you who love the people; all the holy ones are in your hand. At your feet they all bow down, and from you receive instruction,

How can we be free from those curses:
1. Avoid it.
2. Repent.
