=Exodus Sermon Series=

*Exodus 8:1-2
"1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.
2 If you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with frogs.

=Plagues in Egypt=

*Exodus 11:1,5-7
"1 Now the LORD had said to Moses, "I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely.

5 Every firstborn son in Egypt will die, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sits on the throne, to the firstborn son of the slave girl, who is at her hand mill, and all the firstborn of the cattle as well.
6

There will be loud wailing throughout Egypt--worse than there has ever been or ever will be again.
7 But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any man or animal.' Then you will know that the LORD makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.

*Israel experienced complete peace.

*Exodus 12:3
"3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household.
5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats
7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.

"Any family that did not follow God's instructions will suffer in the last plague."

*Exodus 12:12-13
"12 "On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn--both men and animals--and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD.
13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

*Exodus 12:28
"28 The Israelites did just what the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron.

*Step of Faith.

*Exodus 12:29
"29 At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.
30 Pharaoh and all his officials and all the Egyptians got up during the night, and there was loud wailing in Egypt, for there was not a house without someone dead.

Israelites: protected by the blood
Egyptians: experienced judgements

*Hebrews 9:22
"22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Importance of Jesus Christ's blood
*Hebrews 9:14-15
"14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

*I am freed from a conscience defiled by guilt.
*

We are free from the bandage of sins.

15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

*My debt is paid, once and for all.
*I am sure with my salvation.

"Araw-araw, may kalayaan ka para pumili."

"We are cleansed and saved by the blood of Jesus Christ."

*Hebrews 10:26-27
"26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

*1 Corinthians 11:27-30
"27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.
30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
