Hermione was a bit surprised when Harry and Ron had wanted to be friends with her. She hoped it wasn't due to the fact she had connected with a Troll that they were being friends with her. It soon came November or what the other students of Hogwarts like to call Quidditch month. Harry was getting a bit nervous given that Quidditch was starting up and he was going to be the team's Seeker. An important position out of all of them since once you catch the snitch, not only did you end the game but you got 150 points for it. Hermione tried to help him by offering him a book about quidditch. However, Snape suddenly appeared out of the blue and snatched it right up.

"Library books are not to be taken outside the school," Snape said, "Five points from Gryffindor."

"He made that rule up, Harry! I know! I asked the Librarian herself and she says we could!" Hermione grumbled under her breath, knowing full well you can take books outside since she had brought loads of books outside with her to read, while Snape limped away.

"Wonder what's wrong with his leg?" Harry muttered.

"Dunno, but I hope it's really hurting him." Ron said, bitterly.

Hermione was helping Ron and Harry with their homework when Harry insisted he needed that book because he wanted something to take his mind off his nerves. Harry soon got up and headed out, claiming he had a plan to get the book back. It didn't seem like time had passed when Harry came running right back to them and telling them what he heard from Snape and Filch. Apparently, the reason Snape was limping was because he had went up to the forbidden corridor and was bit by one of the dog's heads. And due to this, Harry started to spin tales that Snape may have allowed the troll into Hogwarts as a diversion.

"Are you sure? I mean sure, he's not the nicest person, but he wouldn't try and steal something Dumbledore was keeping safe. Especially when Dumbledore is still in the castle?" Hermione asked them.

"Honestly, Hermione you think all teachers are saints or something!" Ron snapped at her, "I'm with Harry. I wouldn't put it past Snape, but what's he after? What is that dog guarding?"

Harry shrugged his shoulders.

"Don't know. But if need be, we've got a secret weapon." Harry stated before laying his eyes on Hermione. Hermione gulped as she knew exactly what Harry was trying to say. If it came down to it, they would have to go after it, and they were planning to use her to get through the dog.

The next morning, Hermione noticed how nervous Harry was about his first Quidditch match and it didn't help that people were around mumbling about quidditch. She attempted to cheer him up and suggested to Harry to eat something, but he claimed he wasn't exactly hungry.

Hermione followed behind Ron up to the stands, clinging onto a sheet (which Ron's rat, Scabbers, which Crookshanks seemed to enjoy chasing around out of all the rats and mice in the castle had chewed through) she had made with the help of Ron and Dean that had the words Potter for President. She figured that this would cheer Harry up a bit. Hermione watched as everyone else seemed to get extra excited about the whole thing.

Soon people began to fill up the center of the playing field before flying in the air. Hermione stared as soon a large red ball flew up into the air and the match began.

"And the Quaffle is taken immediately by Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor--what an excellent Chaser that Girl is, and rather attractive, too--" Lee Jordan, the Weasley Twins' friend, was doing the commentary for the match when interrupted by McGonagall.

"JORDAN!"

"Sorry Professor."

Hermione couldn't help but laugh a bit while she kept watching the game, glancing a few times at Harry, who hovered over the rest of the players.

"Budge up there, move along."

"Hagrid!"

Ron and Hermione squeezed together to give Hagrid enough space to join them.

"Been watching from my hut." He said while pointing at his binoculars, "But it isn't the same as being in the crowd. No sign of the Snitch yet, eh?"

"Nope," Ron answered, "Harry hasn't had much to do yet."

Hermione kept watching Harry while taking a few glimpse of the game. It was a bit exciting but she wasn't overly fawned of it. Suddenly Harry made a dive and Hermione kept her eyes glued right on him. Harry was neck and with the other team's seeker until Marcus Flint from the Slytherin's team blocked Harry on purpose and caused his broom to spin off course.

Madam Hooch spoke angrily to Flint and then ordered a free shot at the goal posts for Gryffindor. But due to the confusion, the Golden Snitch disappeared. Dean Thomas began shouting, "Send him off, ref! Red card!"

"What are you talking about, Dean?" asked Ron.

"Red card!" Dean furiously stated, "In soccer you get shown the red card and you're out of the game!"

"But this isn't soccer, Dean." Ron reminded him.

"They should change the rules, then. Flint could have knocked Harry off his broom!" Hermione took Dean's side, even though she's not a sport fan. Of Course, Lee Jordan was finding it difficult to not take sides.

"So-- aftter that obvious and disgusting bit of cheating--"

"Jordan!"

"I mean, after that open and revolting foul---"

"Jordan, I'm warning you--"

"All right, all right! Flint nearly kills the Gryffindor Seeker, which could happen to anyone, I'm sure, so a penalty to Gryffindor..."

Hermione went watching the game when suddenly she noticed Harry's broom sudden lurched to the side. At first she thought she was seeing things until it did it again. What the--, she thought as she kept trying to figure out what was going on. Soon people were beginning to notice Harry's broom acting out of control. Hermione soon grabbed hold of Hagrid's binoculars to search the crowd.

"What are you doing?" Ron asked her. She didn't answer till finally she spotted what she was looking for. Her eyes landed right on Snape. He was mumbling something and his eyes weren't blinking and they were fixed right on Harry.

"I knew it! Snape--look! He's jinxing the broom." Hermione ordered as she handed Ron the binoculars.

"What should we do?" Ron asked, nervously.

"Leave it to me!" Hermione stated before rushing down the stands and fought her way across to the stand where Snape was at. She was soon racing along the row behind him; she didn't even stop to say sorry as she knocked Professor Quirrell headfirst into the row in front. Once she reached Snape, she crawled under the seats, pulled out her wand and whispered a few well-chosen words. Bright blue flames shot from her wand and onto the hem of Snape's robes. Hermione was gone the moment Snape noticed his robes were even on fire. She had gotten from under the stands when she noticed Harry on the ground. She gasped, freaking out that she hadn't been fast enough to stop it till she saw him cough something off. It didn't take a genius to know that from the gleam of gold from Harry's hands that it was the Golden Snitch and the game was over. Hermione clapped rapidly, not because they won, but because Harry was safe.
