They proceeded to make their way through the tunnel with was harder than it look. Lupin, Ron and Peter had the worst of it, trying to make sure they could through while Lupin still had his wand at Peter. Snape kept hitting the top of the tunnel, which Sirius didn't seem to care about as he was talking to Harry about maybe having him stay with him if Harry wanted to. Hermione peered over her shoulder where Scabior and Fenrir were following behind.

"Scabior, I'm sorry you were picked on during your days at Hogwarts." She said to him. Scabior shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, past is the past, I don't let it bother me anymore. Besides, without it, I wouldn't have found my home among Fenrir's pack. Never been treated better in my entire life." Scabior assured her as they existed the tunnel. Scabior and Fenrir bid their good-byes before proceeding towards the forest. The rest of them headed towards the castle until... a cloud shifted and their part was bathed in moonlight. Suddenly Remus went stiff before his entire body began to shake violently and a terrible snarling noise came from his lips.

"Run! Run, now!" Sirius demanded them before turning into the black dog. Remus's body began to shift violently, his limbs lengthening as his skin was pale silver and thin, shabby gray fur cover him. He was thin to the bone. Lupin growled as he reared his hand snapping his jaws at them, but Sirius was already there trying to pull Remus from Ron and Peter.

Hermione hadn't had time to take it in when she saw Peter making a dive for Lupin's wand.

"Harry!" She screamed just as Ron was laying motionless on the ground and then Crookshanks too fell to the same spell. Harry shot his wand at Peter, causing Lupin's wand to fly high in the air and out of sight. Harry rushed to stop him, but it was too late. Peter had transformed into his rat form and made his escape.

"Sirius! He's gone!" Harry cried as he turned before becoming wide-eyed and his wand pointed behind Hermione. She stiffened when she heard a snarl. Slowly she turned to see Lupin standing right behind her, growling and seeming to ready to pounce. Hermione gulped as she held her hand out and proceeded to back away.

"Easy Professor Lupin... you don't want to be doing this..." She tried pleading with him. Suddenly, Lupin stumbled back, shaking his head like he had a rock throw at it.

"Hermione! I think you can talk to him!" Harry whispered to her. Hermione nodded as she cleared her throat.

"Professor Lupin, I demand you to go away...." she ordered him. Lupin seemed to be fighting something inside him but finally obeyed her. He turned around and hurried across the yard and into the forest. Harry walked over to her side, but they didn't have long to think as they heard a yelping sound like a dog in pain.

"Sirius," Harry mumbled as they ran towards the sound. They soon found Sirius on the side of the lake. He was on all fours pleading out... and they found out why. Hundreds of dementors were swarming around him. Hermione and Harry pulled out their wands as they ran up trying to shoot as many Patronus out at them.

"Hermione! Call them off!" Harry pleaded with her. She nodded as she looked up at all them.

"Stop it! He's innocent! Go away!" Hermione pleaded with them. One dementor lowered till it was facing her.

"Orders... from a higher up... says to do it..." the dementor told her.

"I'm telling you to ignore Fudge's orders! He's innocent! You need to leave him alone." Hermione insisted to the dementor.

"Not... Fudge's orders..." the dementor groaned before motioning towards Sirius and Harry. Hermione raised her wand as she started to scream the Patronus Charm, trying to ward them off. Her Basilisk's Patronus came pouring from her wand, coiled around her like a shield, as it began snapping at dementors left and right trying to keep them away from the three of them. But there were too many and the Basilisk Patronus could go only so far to strike. Hermione's eyes widened in horror as one dementor grabbed hold of Harry's neck and pulled him a foot off the ground. Just as she was screaming Harry's name, a silvery light started to grow bright and brighter from the other side of the lake, reaching towards them. Hermione lifted her hands up to stop the light from blinding her but found herself stumbling backwards as she watched the dementors soaring away from it like it was cursed light. Soon Hermione found herself drifting in and out of conscious till finally succumbing to the darkness.

"Shocking business.... miracle none of them died... lucky you were there, Snape..."

"Thank you, Minister...."

The words were fading in and out in Hermione's ears as she laid there trying not to move and listen at the same time. Some of what she heard made her want to jump out of bed and curse Snape so bad, he wouldn't be able to teach another day at Hogwarts. However, soon it gotten to the point she couldn't take another word of it and jumped out of her bed.  She shot her head up towards where the Minister and Snape were standing, talking with each other.

"HE'S LYING!" Hermione shouted so loud, it actually caused both Snape and Fudge to flinch while they turned around. It was also enough to wait up Harry, who began to stumble for his glasses.

"Ah! You're both awake! Oh! Hermione and Harry I insist you two stay in bed..." Fudge stated while they were climbing out of her bed. They stormed up towards them as she pointed her finger right up into Snape's face.

"He's lying, Minister! Black's innocent of his crimes! My Grandma Elka was right about it being Peter Pettigrew, who killed those muggles and betrayed Lily and James Potter then framed Black for what he did." Hermione shouted at them.

"Miss Granger... you are just confuse.... that's all..." Fudge stated to her.

"No, We're not confuse! Ask Lupin! Ask Scabior! Ask Fenrir Greyback! They all were there! They all know the truth as well as us!" Harry pleaded with the Minister.

"I warned you, Minister. Confunded the both of them... Black's done a very good job on them..." Snape started before Hermione shot him a glare.

"Shut up! You dirty, ugly git!" Hermione told Snape, causing the Minister to gasp and Harry to snicker, "He's only saying that because he wants revenge on a stupid old school grudge he has with Black! Pathetic really!"

"Silence, you silly girl..." Snape started before Hermione cut in again.

"No! I will not be silence! And don't ever call me another horrible name again or else I'll set a dementor on you!" Hermione threatened him. Fudge grasped his chest as he looked unable to speak at the moment while Harry's mouth dropped to his chest. Suddenly the doors opened and in came Dumbledore.

"Professor Dumbledore, Sirius Black--" Harry started when Madam Pomfrey came in with a large try full of water and chocolate.

"Oh! For heaven's sake! I leave the room for one second and everything is chaos! Everyone, who is not a patient, I must insist you leave!" Madam Pomfrey shrieked while setting the tray down.

"My apologies, Poppy, But I need to speak with Mr. Potter and Miss Granger alone," Dumbledore said calmly, motioning for everyone to leave, "This cannot wait," he said mostly towards Madam Pomfrey, who pursed her lips then strode into her office at the end of the ward, slamming the door behind her.

Then Fudge motioned about the dementors arriving soon and headed out the door, Snape following afterward, sending a glare at each and everyone of them before shutting it behind them. Harry and Hermione began to try and explain their stories, but Dumbledore held up his hand.

"I need you two to listen and not interrupt me, because there is very little time. There's not a shred of proof to support Black's story except yours, Lupin's, Scabior's and Fenrir's  word and the word of two thirteen-year-old wizards, and a couple of werewolves, especially two known by the pubic as savages, aren't going to convince anybody. But I do believe you all, but I have no power to make other men see the truth or overrule the Minister of Magic... and it's best to try to control the dementors, Miss Granger,  yes I know about that.... but what you can do,  is more time..."

Hermione stiffed as she felt her Time Turner seeming to burn against her chest.

"Now, pay attention. Sirius is locked in Professor Flitwick's office on the seventh floor. Thirteenth window from the right of the West Tower. If all goes well, you will be able to save more than one innocent life tonight. But remember this, you must not be seen. Miss Granger, you know the law-- you now what is at stake... you-- must--not-- be--seen." Dumbledore stated to them before turning around and headed towards the door. Upon reaching it, he peered over his shoulder.

"I am going to lock you in.. it's five minutes to midnight. Three turns should do the trick... good luck..." Dumbledore said with a smile before vanishing behind the door.
