Everyone of the children were now standing in the middle of the living room as Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were in Ginny's room to examine the trunk. Percy was upset with the whole thing since he insisted he should be in bed. However, Ron and Harry appeared as concerned about Hermione as they were for themselves... then there was the twins.
"Is there really a dementor in that trunk of yours?" Fred asked her. Hermione shrugged her shoulders.
"Yeah, but it only shows itself if I say the incantation. If someone else says it, it only appears as an empty trunk." Hermione answer them. She could hear the twins silently say 'wicked'.
"Why hadn't you mention this to the Ministry before coming here? Surely, if you didn't take the dementor you would have given it back to them." Percy asked her in a tone that sounded like he suspected her of bring the trunk into their house.
"My Grandma Elka was going to deal with it. She didn't want me anywhere near the dementor." Hermione growled at Percy, shooting him a glare.
"Careful, Perce! You upset Hermione too much; she'll send that dementor on you." Fred joked. Percy, however; nearly jumped out of his PJs and headed to the other side of the room. A minute later, both Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley came walking down the stairs, carrying the trunk with them.
"So far, we haven't been able to find any sort of curses or hex on the box. Hermione, it followed you from your home to here, because it contains a Following Charm. A spell that allows the object to follow you whether you go." Mr. Weasley explained, "However, we don't very much want to take any chances, so we figure, we'll keep it in our room till we find a way to disarm the Following Charm. Hopefully it doesn't follow us when we go to the World Cup tomorrow. Now everyone go back to bed."
Hermione nodded as she watched Mr. Weasley carrying the trunk over towards where their room was before going up with Ginny to get some sleep.
Mrs. Weasley wasn't joking when they said they were going to wake at the crack of time. Too sleepy to talk, they dressed in silence and headed downstairs where Mrs. Weasley was making breakfast and Mr. Weasley was making sure they had their tickets.
"Where's Bill, Charlie and Per-Per-Percy?" George said through a yawn.
"They're going to Apparate there." Mrs. Weasley stated to them.
"Why can't we Apparate too?" Fred said grumpily.
"Because you're not of age and haven't passed your test... do you want to really risk being splinched?" Mrs. Weasley warned them.
"Splinched?" Harry asked.
"Leave half of yourself behind." Mr. Weasley told them, "Now we have a little walking to do, but then we're going to meet up with Mr. Diggory and his son to a portkey."
After breakfast they grabbed their bags and hurried off to find the portkey. It was like an hour or so of walking till they reached a cliff sight.
"We've made good time-- we've got ten minutes-- now we just need the portkey... " Mr. Weasley stated to them.
"Arthur! Over here, Arthur!" A voice shouted out
"Amos!" Mr. Weasley shouted back at the two figures on the other side of the hilltop. They rushed over towards the two figures.
"Everyone, this is Amos Diggory, he works for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. And you guys know Cedric?"
They quickly exchanged their greetings. As Mr. Diggory and Mr. Weasley began talking about the quidditch and then about the kids.
"Only the redheads. These two are friends of Ron's. Hermione Granger and Harry Potter--"
"Harry Potter! Cedric! As in the one you played last year... you beat Harry Potter!" Amos cheered to Cedric who looked slightly uncomfortable.
"It was an accident... I told you..." Cedric stated to him.
"Modest as always... and Hermione Granger! I've heard a bit of you. Not only are you rumored to be the brightest witch of your age but also that you're having some trouble with a Death Eater..." Mr. Diggory stated to them. Hermione felt her heart nearly stop.
"Merlin's Beard! I didn't know that-- Hermione! Why didn't you say anything?" Mr. Weasley asked her.
"Really, Arthur? I figure it's all over the Ministry since I've heard it being spoken about by almost everyone! But Hermione if ever, you need someone to talk to, my boy Cedric will be willing to be there to lend an ear. Oh! We are going to have to discuss this another time-- the portkey is here." Mr. Diggory stated while they stumbled over towards the old boot. Hermione felt herself start to get a bit upset. She hadn't wanted any of this to get out and yet here it was. All out in the open.
They weren't kidding when they mentioned it was going to be crowded. The entire field was covered in tons of wizards and other people, who came to see the World Cup. They scurried in and out between people to find their tent. When they were trying to get a map, the poor muggle had to have his memory wiped as soon as they were done.
"Been having a lot of trouble with this one. Needs a Memory Charm ten times a day to keep him happy. And Ludo Bagman's not helping at all. Ranting on about Bludgers and Quaffles at the top of his voice. Not giving a damn about anit-Muggle security. I'll be glad when this is over." A wizard ranted while showing them the way to the gate.
"Shouldn't Mr. Bagman know better than talk about Quidditch around Muggles? I mean he is the Head of Magical Game and Sports," Ginny asked.
"He should... but Ludo's always been too lax about security. But he can't help it. He played Quidditch for England himself and he was the best Beater the Wimbourne Wasps ever had... Ah! Here we are!" Mr. Weasley claimed to them as they reached a tent marked WEEZLY. Slowly, they proceeded inside the tent, which was massive compared to what it appears outside.
Once everything was settle, Hermione, Harry and Ron set off to get some water for the tent. They headed through, taking in all the sights and sounds. They passed a flood of shamrock-covered tents where they found Seamus and Dean wearing a lot of green themselves then a little further they passed the Bulgarians' tents where they had a large Bulgarian flag with a man who looked furious about something.
"Krum!" Ron squeaked quietly.
"Who?" Hermione asked.
"Krum! Viktor Krum! He's the Bulgarian Seeker!"
"He looks upset... and really grumpy." Hermione pointed out.
"Who cares what he looks like? He's unbelievable! He's really young too. Only eighteen or something, but he's a genius! You'll see!" Ron stated while they walked on passed a Muggle Shop before collecting water and heading back towards tent to get ready for the World Cup.
