Born From Madness (Harry Potter Fanfic)

Even though Hermione was looking forward to Hogwarts, she started to find herself wishing the summer would never end. She found it most enjoyable being with the Weasleys. Plus she was a bit fearful of running into her parents after she basically ran away from home. On their last evening, Mrs. Weasley conjured up a wonderful dinner that included all of Harry's and Hermione's favorite things, ending with a delightful treacle pudding. Fred and George rounded off the evening with a display of Filibuster fireworks; filling the kitchen with red and blue stars that bounced off everything for a half an hour. Then they went to bed after a cup of hot chocolate. 

It took a while to get started the next morning. Hermione, of course, packed her things beforehand and she advised Ginny to do the same. Which turned out to be a brilliant idea since everyone else seemed to have a great deal to do. It was a great mess as everyone was rushing around like a bunch of headless chickens. And when they were told they were going to be taking the Ford Anglia, Hermione was left wondering how it would be possible. Until...

"Not a word to Molly," Mr. Weasley told them as he opened the trunk and began to put in all their things as the trunk started to expand. Once everything was packed and everyone was in their seats, they proceeded to drive on. There was a moment where Mr. Weasley suggest they fly the car but Mrs. Weasley refused to even budge. They did make it with a few minutes left to spare. They rushed to get their trolleys and made their way to the platform. 

"Percy First," Mrs. Weasley said as they reached the barrier. Percy didn't waste a moment as he rushed through with Mr. Weasley following behind then the twins then Mrs. Weasley and Ginny. Harry and Ron went ahead of Hermione but instead of going through, they crashed! Hermione shrieked as she watched their luggages and other things falling off their trolleys. 

"What happened?" Hermione asked as she hurried towards them and placed her hand on the barrier. Under her touch, it felt nothing more like a normal wall. 

"Why can't we get through?" Harry asked. 

"I dunno--" Ron answered. 

"We're going to miss the train!" Hermione whispered, "I don't understand why the gateway would seal itself." 

Hermione watched the clock as it began to tick away till finally it hit the time the train was going to depart the station. Harry and Ron began bickering to each other of  what they were going to do when suddenly..

"The car! We can take the car to Hogwarts." Ron blurted out. 

"What? Are you mad?" Hermione asked, wondering if it was even legal for Ron to take the car. They would most certainly get in trouble with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. 

"We're stuck! We got to get to school! And even underage wizards are allowed to use magic if it's a real emergency!" Ron explained. 

"And what about your parents?" Harry asked. 

"They can apparate! Just vanish and reappear at home! They only bother with Floo powder and the car because we're underage." Ron explained. 

"Can you even fly it?" Hermione asked, concernly. 

"No problem! Now C'mon! We'll be able to follow the Hogwarts express if we hurry." Ron told them as he proceed down the platform. Harry shrugged his shoulders and followed behind Hermione sighed and followed, wondering how much trouble they'll be in for this. 

Hermione cursed herself for going along with the plan. Sure it was fun riding over the fluffy clouds in the sky, but they almost died! Not only did they have a hard time making the car invisible since the button was a bit faulty but also they almost got run over by a train and Harry almost fell out of the car. Then as they were nearing Hogwarts, the car started to act up since it hadn't driven so flew as long in its life.  So Ron had to fight the wheel to make sure they didn't land in the lake. But Hermione would have preferred landing into the lake inside of the tree, which turned out to be the Whomping Willow! A large tree that is known to beat the hell out of anything that came remotely near it. It completely destroyed the car!
