Hermione woke the next morning earlier than usual so her parents would be asleep while they snuck out. Grandma Elka and Hermione had agreed to have her stuff all packed and ready to go before they took off. She snuck downstairs with great difficulty given she had so much stuff to take with her. Finally taking down her suitcase and Crookshanks's carrier, Grandma Elka and Hermione snuck out of the house as quietly as possible and paused at the end of their driveway. Grandma Elka pulled out a bucket from underneath her coat.

"Okay, we have about a few minutes till the Portkey sends us to the Burrows," Grandma Elka stated to Hermione. She was about to ask her Grandma what a Portkey was when suddenly a voice spoke out that caused shivers down her spines.

"Mom! Hermione! What are you doing outside in the cold?" Hermione and Grandma Elka turned around to find her Mom leaning out the window. Grandma Elka glance between Mom and her before landing her eyes on Hermione.

"RUN!" Grandma Elka shrieked before darting down the street like a mad woman. Hermione followed behind, carrying her things while she listened to the sound of her Mom screaming out for the two of them to get back there. Running a few blocks away, they began to slow down.

"About ten seconds remaining-- take my hand, sweetie," Grandma Elka told her as she held out her arm. The moment Hermione took hold of her Grandma's arm, she felt herself behind pulled off the ground and spiraling around in the air. It felt like hours till finally Hermione was stumbling across the ground, nearly dropping her stop and vomiting on her shoes.

"Oh, what a lovely place! I've always wanted a house in the countryside," Grandma said, cheerfully. Pulling her head up, she had a glimpse of Ron's house. It was a rather large and old house with a small shed in the back and a small area for the pigs. Hermione was suddenly pulled away from her admiring when a loud car horn came echoing into their ears. Hermione had barely turned to see a flying car heading towards them. She screamed as she and her Grandma ducked for covered. Hermione hit the ground with a little grunt as she heard the car shrieking to a stop. While she climbed back to her feet, she watched Ron and Harry bolting from the car and headed over towards her.

"Hermione! I'm so sorry! We didn't know you were coming here!" Ron shouted as they proceeded to grab her stuff and helped her dust off from the mud.

"Sorry, we've just jump in. But it was an emergency," Hermione explained. Ron and Harry were about ready to ask her what it was when Grandma Elka's voice echoed into the air.

"Does someone mind helping me? Old lady down!  Old Lady Down! Mayday! Mayday!" Grandma called out.

"We'll help you ma'am!" Fred stated as he and George helped her to her feet. As Grandma Elka was thanking Fred and George and all of them hurried inside, Ron and Harry proceeded to ask her questions as to what was happening. Hermione proceeded to tell them about Winky and how she warned Hermione about going to Hogwarts, and how her parents began to panic and take Winky's warning seriously. And apparently, she hadn't been the only one who had been threatened. After Hermione told her story, Harry proceeded to explained his story about how another house-elf by the name of Dobby warned him of the exact same thing.

"Do you think there's some connection between the two?" Ron asked, "Maybe they're from the same family? Malfoy's family! He probably tried to make you two think you were in danger or something."

"You too Hermione?" Hermione shot her head up to find Fred and George walking over towards them, "Someone making you too scared to come back to Hogwarts? We were just talking about Malfoy, especially his father."

"Grandma Elka told me a bit about him. Said he was one of cockiest jerks at Hogwarts and that his family did come from an old wizard family, which she explained most house-elves did come from." Hermione pointed out.

"Yeah, and he was a big supporter of You-Know-Who. And when You-Know-Who disappeared, he claimed he never meant it. But Dad reckons he was right in You-Know-Who's inner circle."  George stated to her, "And if anyone's going to have a house-elf or two it's going to be Malfoy's."

Soon Fred and George went back to helping Grandma Elka, who was standing in front of the pigpen where the pigs were all curious and trying to play with Grandma.

"But we're glad we came to get Harry, I was getting worried when he wasn't answering. I thought it was Errol's fault," Ron started.

"Who?"

"He's our owl. He's ancient and he's known to collapse on a delivery or two. So I tried to borrow Hermes,"

"Who?"

"The owl Mum and Dad bought Percy, but Percy wouldn't let me. Said he needed him. He's been acting very oddly this summer, and he has been sending a lot of letters and spending a load of time locked in his room." Ron stated.

"Does your parents know you took their car?" Hermione asked him, already knowing the answer.

"No," Ron answered, "He had work in the Ministry of Magic tonight something relating to the misuse of muggle things, thankfully we put the car back before they noticed. Come on, we better get inside before Mom does figure out we left in the middle of the night."

They hurried along till they entered the home of the Burrow.
