"What was that all about in there, Hermione?" Harry asked Hermione while they hurried their to lunch. Hermione pulled him to the side as she pulled out Rose's diary and opened it to the right page.

"Rose writes here right after the trial of Fenrir Greyback, she was upset with Lyall Lupin. Right here... I have to get this off my chest! Lyall made a stupid choice today in court! When the jury believed Fenrir's word that he was a homeless muggle, Lyall let his anger get the better of him and say 'Werewolves are soulless, evil, and deserve nothing but death' right in front of Fenrir Greyback, who is being accused for the murder of two muggle children! And he has a son Remus Lupin! After court, I rushed to my office  to say a little pray, hoping that nothing bad--- she cuts off here for a moment but then writes--,

"I had to go out for a bit. I had just received word from Dorothy and Blanche, Fenrir had escape with two other werewolves! I had to inform Lyall... of course, I may have let my own anger get the better of me as I slapped Lyall across the face and started screaming like a mad man about how stupid he was! But in my defense, I was worried for his son, Remus. What if Fenrir does the unthinkable and go after Remus as a way of getting back at Lyall. Oh, Merlin's beard, I hope nothing bad happens to sweet Remus!" Hermione finished reading the diary to Harry, who was now looking as curious as she was.

"So something happened in the past with Lupin... but why are you so curious about it?" Harry asked her. Hermione fumbled with the diary as she sighed.

"Remember that night I was taken to the Hospital Wing? Well before that, I got surrounded by dementors... and they were telling me to do awful things, Harry... really awful things... but then suddenly these two men came out of nowhere and they saved me from them. I think... one of them was Fenrir Greyback." Hermione admitted to him. Harry's bottom jaw dropped.

"Why would he risk his own skin to protect you from the dementors?" Harry asked, she shrugged her shoulders, mumbling how she didn't know... and this was something she didn't like not knowing.

Hermione and Ron, proceeded to Hogsmeade, but she was having a hard time feeling joyous about being in Hogsmeade. Her mind was still glue to the thought that Fenrir Greyback was out near Hogwarts, and she wasn't sure why he would be here. And she was confused why he would save her of all people? Why would he risk his own life just to keep her safe?

"Hello? Hermione!" Hermione jolted as she turned to see Ron staring at her.

"Yes, Ron?"

"I said did you want to check out the Shrieking Shack or not?" Ron asked her, looking a bit annoyed at her. She nodded that she would like to see it since it was a famous haunted landmark before fixing the collar of her red velvet coat.

It took them a bit till they reached the Shrieking Shack. It was just as haunted looking as it was claimed to be haunted. It was a tall, pitch-black structure, that stood lonely by itself amongst the vast snowed area wrapped around it. Hermione and Ron stood outside the wire fence the stood between them and the house. She was just looking at it when a sudden chill rushed through her (not due to the cold). She felt like it was staring at her, watching her, tempting her to come closer to it. However, before Hermione could put her finger on it, her mind shifted else where...

"Well, well! Look who we have here?" Hermione and Ron turned to find Malfoy and his goons running down the snowy hill towards them.

"You two shopping for your new dream home? Bit grand for you isn't it, Weasley? Don't your family sleep in a one room?" Malfoy asked, snorting along with his goons.

"Shut your mouth, Malfoy!" Ron shouted at them.

"Oh, not very friendly. Boys, I think its time we teach Weasley how to respect his superiors." Malfoy mumbled. Hermione chuckled while rolling her eyes at Malfoy.

"I hope you don't mean yourself!" Hermione said, "Last time I check, I'm not scared of Barty Crouch Jr.... or dementors."

"I'm not scared of Barty Crouch! Or those dementors like Potter." Malfoy spat back.

"Really? Why don't I call on one and send it over here and we can all see if you're telling the truth?" Hermione suggested to Malfoy. His gang chuckled as well as Malfoy.

"You call on a dementor? Please! They'll suck your soul out before you could even get a word out of your mouth!" Malfoy chuckled. Hermione jogged forward almost till she was a foot away from Malfoy.

"You have no idea what I'm capable of!" Hermione growled at him. Before another word was extended to them, Malfoy's head flung forward as snow was splattered on the back of his head. Everyone turned towards where the snowball had come from, but couldn't see the source of who did it.

"Who's there?" Malfoy called out. Suddenly another snowball hurled its way at Malfoy and his goons. Hermione and Ron stood there, laughing and watching as an invisible force began attacking them. The three of them began hurrying their way when a purple spark shot from somewhere, hitting Malfoy with the Leg-Locker Curse. Hermione burst out laughing as she watched Malfoy hopping away from them. She paused a moment when she felt her hair being lifted around and played around.

"Harry!" She shouted, causing Harry to pull off his Invisibility Cloak.

"That was brilliant, Harry." Ron said to him as they high-five each other.

"Yeah, and excellent move with the Leg-Locker Curse." Hermione told him with a bright grin. However, it vanished when Harry looked at her in confusion.

"I didn't use the Leg-Locker Curse, 'Mione." Harry admitted to her. Hermione opened her mouth to speak when she caught sight of something beyond the trees. She saw a part of someone's face and their hand on the front side of the tree.

"HEY! You!" Hermione called out as she rushed over towards the man. The man turned and proceeded running away. Hermione tried to keep up but it was like chasing a fox. He was too fast. She could see his dark leather trench coat flaring around in the wind as he rushed between the trees. It wasn't long till she had lost sight of the man when she had to stop try to catch her breath. She leaned down, her hands on her knees as her head flung up to watch as the figure ran off, vanishing amongst the snow.
