"We should be getting close to the Ministry!" Remus screamed to Hermione as they spotted the top of the buildings down below. Just as they began descending, Hermione wasn't too sure how she was going to hide the dragon from the muggles down below or even how to get Sirius into the place given he was still wanted. She was sure she would get in trouble for this, but she was more concerned of getting into the Ministry.
Hermione's thoughts shifted when she noticed the dragon still was flying at top speed and getting closer to the building.
"Uh... you might want to slow down," Hermione told it, knowing there was no way she could steer the dragon. The dragon either didn't understand what she was saying or it chose to ignore. Her heart began racing as she could see the almost the very details of the buildings beneath them. Hermione buried her face into the dragon's neck, praying for a quick death when they crash into the building.
But it never came.
Hermione peered up. Her eyes widened. They were flying through the building... literally! She glanced down to find the dragon and herself were almost completely see-through. Out of all the strangeness the wizarding world had to offer, this had to top the cake. Suddenly, she could feel the dragon slowing down as it reached down into a dark, eerie hallway. Once they had landed did Hermione recognize this place. It was where Harry had his trial and she had interview Barty Crouch Jr.
He has to be here, Hermione thought her herself before sliding off the dragon. When she did, she noticed her entire body returned to normal. She gaze back to the dragon to see it was still see-through clearly to help it phase a few of its body parts through the walls given its size.
"I think I'll be fine, stay here." Hermione told it while she pulled out her wand. Despite her knowing it would be wise to wait for Remus and Sirius, she had to move forward. She couldn't afford wasting another minute and risk Harry's life.
Turning forward, she hurried down the corridor to find where Harry was. She walked for a couple of minutes until she saw a familiar door she recognized as the one Harry mentioned from the dream. Hermione bolted through the room, which she regretted when the door shut behind her and left her in a dark room.
It was a circular room with floating candles with blue flames the only light. She gasped when the room began spinning a bit until it paused. Clearly it was a defense to stop her from knowing which door she entered from, making it more difficult for her to return. However, now she was a bit turned around. Which door did she try? What if she gets the wrong one and ends up being lost in there? What if...
Straight ahead...
Hermione spun around upon hearing the voice. But there was no one there. Though she could have sworn she had heard someone.
Straight ahead... the voice repeated. This time, she could sense it was within her own head. However, she didn't recognized the voice. She knew it seemed mad, but she found herself wanting to follow the strange voice. So against common sense, she headed to the door in front of her.
She opened the door to find tons of bright diamond-sparkling lights dancing amongst the darkness. It took some time for her eyes to adjust to the darkness where she found shelves full of crystal balls lining them. The shelves seemed like they went on forever, worrying her that she won't be able to find Harry in time. She wanted to call out to him, but knew it would be a bad idea given then it would alert the other Death Eaters to her.
Ninety-seven...
The voice suddenly spoke again.
"Ninety-seven?" Hermione mumbled in confusion, wondering what it meant. That was until her eyes landed on the ends of the shelves to see numbers on them.
"Oh," She whispered before holding her wand out in front of her and proceeded down the aisle. She dashed pass the shelves, searching for any signs of Harry, praying she wasn't too late. She glanced up at the ends of the shelves. Fifty-five, Sixty, Sixty-five... Hermione kept reading the numbers as best as she could to make sure she got to ninety-seven.
She had reached shelf ninety-one when she paused for a moment. She didn't know how she caught it, but she did. She could see one of the orbs had her name on it. She wasn't sure how was that possible, but it was there. Slowly, she walked towards it as she picked it up from the shelf.
A heart breaking decision awaits...
For the Lady who speaks the Tongues of Beasts...
A voice spoke out to her, which seemed to come from the orb itself.
from a betrayal amongst her friends...
A path in which she will carve for herself...
shall bring forth peace or destruction.
What the hell did that mean, Hermione pondered to herself. She mumbled to herself that this must be more of that strange divination stuff Professor Trelawney taught before setting it back onto the shelf and headed down the aisle to find Harry.
She passed a few more shelves where she spotted a group of people ahead of her. They were all huddled near the corner of one shelf. It didn't take long for her to realized who it all was.
"HARRY!" Hermione screamed out as she rushed over to the group, which had turned in her direction.
"Hermione?" Harry called out as she reached the group, "What are you doing here? How did you get here?"
"I came as fast as I could on a dragon when I finished retrieving the wand... after I had this terrible vision of you being hurt... but... you're alright!" Hermione panted while she ran her hand against Harry's cheek to make sure he was indeed seeing this correctly, "You were in danger... I thought..."
"I was in danger!? It's Sirius, who's in danger!" Harry told her. Hermione shook her head.
"What are you talking about? Sirius went with me and Remus to find the wand!" Hermione told him. Harry opened his mouth only to be silence by...
"It seems the two of you need to learn the difference between dreams and and reality."
