Hermione sat there stunned when her eyes kept rescanning the name Fenrir Greyback. Rose actually talked with Fenrir Greyback and after writing in her diary... 

She quickly set the manuscript down as she grabbed Rose's diary from her bag and proceeded to go through some of her later entries of the diary. It took a bit till finally Hermione found the right entry. 

Dear Diary, 

I must confess a secret to you. I was on one of my nature's walks when who do I stumbled upon except for Fenrir Greyback himself! I was so stunned, I didn't know what to do! I just stood there, staring at the back of his head, thinking of what I must do. I pulled out my wand and approached carefully towards him. But when I reached him... it was like it wasn't the same Fenrir. He seemed defeated.... tired... not the dangerous, strong , full of hate and anger man I know he is... or was. It was almost like he was a different man. 

I approached him further until he noticed me. Then not a minute later, we were actually having conversation... and discovered something I know many would not want to believe. 

It turns out, the story of him invading the Lupin's house through Remus's window and waiting till he turn to bite Remus was a lie! Fenrir actually came in through the front door because Hope Lupin, Remus's Mother and Lyall's wife, allowed him in. In her defense, Hope didn't know what Fenrir looked like and had used the story of being caught in the rain to get in. Fenrir did admit he was there to bite someone, but it wasn't Remus. He was after Lyall! He wanted Lyall to turn into the thing Lyall had declared himself deserves nothing but death. However, upon his transformation, Remus Lupin woke up and instead of screaming for Remus to run, Lyall actually pulled Remus in front of him. Fenrir was horrified at what he had witness before he ran out of the house and hurried away. But he was more upset with how the Daily Prophet had written where Fenrir had went after Remus himself. 

At first I was unconvinced, but then it started to make sense.  It's why Hope had divorced Lyall and took Remus with her away from Lyall and ordered for full custody. Also why Lyall had removed his pictures of his family from his office. 

Afterwards, Fenrir and I actually began to make our friendship... 

Hermione couldn't read another word of the diary as she closed it then leaned against her chair. Could that be the reason Fenrir was watching her, Hermione ponder. Was he paying some debt to Rose for her giving him a chance? 

However, she didn't have much time to think about it much when she saw it was almost eight o'clock. She stuffed her books into her bag, remembering her appointment with Lupin. She had snuck back after class and asked Lupin if he knew any charm to help her ward off the dementors. He offered her help and schedule with her to meet with him in the History of Magic classroom. 

She was just entering inside when she saw not only Professor Lupin but Harry as well. She wasn't surprise to find Harry there since he was being tormented by dementors as she was, but with the fact they weren't exactly talking, made her wish he wasn't there. 

"Hello, you two," Professor Lupin said, leaning against the rather large packing case. 

"What's that?" she asked him. 

"As I was telling Harry, it's a boggart. It's the nearest thing to a real dementor. The boggart will turn into a dementor when he sees Harry, here. I can store him in my office when we are through using it." Lupin told them before pushing off the crate and stood before Hermione and Harry, who stood in front of each other almost nervously. 

"The spell I am going to try and teach you two is highly advance magic-- well beyond Ordinary Wizarding Level. It's called the Patronus Charm." 

"How does it work?" Harry asked, nervously.
