I have taken on quite the task but I was happy to help. One of my students parents had to unexpectedly leve town and I volunteered to watch her, she's a handful but also one of the best I have in my classroom.

"Joy, please stop running around the house. You can get your energy out on the way to school." I said chuckling as she stopped listening to my words. "Thank you. I was thinking we could have dinner tonight at the hotel, what do you think?" I asked the 6 year old girl, "Can we please?" She asked jumping up and down. "I believe we can." I smiled at the girl. "But we really need to be leaving for school." I told her she grabbed her books as did I and we headed for the door. I smiled at the girl who was skipping around as we walked to school, it made me even more excited to be a parent. The baby was growing and so wasn't I, you could see a little baby bump which made me smile every time I saw it.

It was mid day and the class was finishing up reading hour, "Your assignments are due tomorrow and so isn't your homework so please bring those to me tomorrow. But for now class is dismissed, have a good day everyone." I smiled as the children as they left, I looked over to Joy who was still reading her book. "Joy." I smiled as she looked up, "Yes Mrs Kinslow?" She looked up smiling at me, "I'm going to gather my things and then we'll go to the hotel, alright?" I told the young girl. "Okay!" She said getting up and walking over to me as I grabbed my books and shaw. "Lets go!" I smiled at Joy as we both walked towards door.

"Hello Joy, Adeline." Grace smiled as she saw us walk in, "Hi miss Bennett." Joy smiled Grace chuckled showed us to our seats. "What can I get you to eat?" Grace asked, "Mac and cheese please!" Joy said which made Grace and I chuckle more. "I've been craving some meatloaf recently." I told Grace with a smile, "One Mac and cheese and one meatloaf are coming for you." Grace smiled before walking off back to the kitchen. I heard the door open but I didn't look, "Look," Joy said pointing at the door which made me look "That man has a red jacket, just like Mountie Gabriel." Joy smiled, "Yes, he does. He's a Mountie too." I told Joy as the man walked over to our table. "Constable William Tucker." The Mountie said introducing himself. "Pleased to meet you. I'm wondering if you know..." I started off, "Gabriel Kinslow?" He asked with a slight smile, "How did you know?" I asked a little confused, "You must be Adeline Kinslow." He told me, "Yeah that's me," I smiled. "Your husband talks about you all the time. Even showed us a picture from your wedding. Constable Kinslow is my superior officer." He explained himself to me which made me smile. "Is he alright? I've written him so much but I've only gotten one from him." I told the Constable. "Well, the postal service is slow up there. But after he learned I would be stopping in, he wanted me to give you this." He smiled before handing me a letter from Gabriel. "Thank you so much." I told the man as I held the letter, "Could you like me to give him a message?" He asked, "Yes." I said pulling out some paper from my basket, I quickly wrote a verse that has been close to my heart recently. "What's it say?" Joy asked, "1 Corinthians 13:4." I smiled at the girl, "Love is patient." The Constable smiled, "It has to be. It isn't easy, having him so far away. I miss him." I told the Constable, "I hope to find love like you and your husband share, it's a beautiful thing to witness." He smiled which made me, "I'll make sure he gets this." Holding up the note, "Good day, ma'am." He smiled before walking off.

"Goodnight Joy." I smiled in the doorway, "Goodnight, Mrs Kinslow." She smiled before closing her eyes as I closed the door. I sat down before I saw the letter sitting on the end stand, I smiled before reaching for it.

"My Adeline,

There is not a day goes by that I don't think about you or what you're up too. Thinking of you is what keeps me going. I wish I could say things are going well but we've taken a hard it but we're recouping and fighting back but I don't see this war ending soon. I love you my beautiful wife and I can't wait to be home.

Your husband, Gabriel."

A tear fell as I finished reading this letter I missed him so much, it's been a couple of months since he left but it feels like forever.
