It's been two days since we've been here. I was was reading a book outback in my favorite place, the Garden. A few minutes later I heard foot steps coming close, I looked up from my book to se Leo walking over. "Always reading books." Leo said sitting down by me, "It's not all that bad, you should try it." Adeline told him, he let a small laugh out. "Maybe." He smiled, "So have you been?" He asked, "Good, really good. I love where I'm working, great people, even better friends." I told best friend, "So what's the deal with that Mountie?" Leo asked, "Oh Gabriel?" I asked, he nodded his hand.
"Are you guys courting?" He asked, I smiled.
"Yes. He's an amazing guy" I told him, "I'm happy for you." Leo told me, "Thank you." I smiled, "I was thinking, what if you and I went for dinner? Just the two of us like the old times." Leo said, "Yeah, but I would hate to leave Gab all alone." I told him, "I'm sure he'll be fine. He has your mom and grandpa." He said to me, "I guess your right. What time?" I asked him, "6." Leo told me, "I'll see you than." I smiled, I got up and walked inside to see Grandpa and Gabriel talking i smiled before continuing on.I saw mother looking out the window, I decided to join her. "What were you and Leo talking about?" She asked, "Nothing much" I answered, "He asked me to join him for dinner tonight." I added, "Just the two of you?" She asked, "Yes, he said he wanted to catch up." I told her, she nodded her head. "Make sure you tell Gab." She told me, "I going to, but I don't think he'll care." I told her, "He might see it differently." Mom told me, "Why are you making this a bigger deal than what it needs to be?" I asked her, "Sit down." She said as she moved to the small loveseat that was near by, I followed her. "Because something similar happened to me. When your grandma started her fainting spells, I dropped what I was doing and came out, your dad came along as well. I got so caught up in everything, seeing old friends, spending a lot of time with one of my guys friends, I didn't see what I was doing before it was too late. It caused a big fight and it took time away that i could have had with your father." She told me, I never knew something like this ever happened. "I had no idea." I told her, "I'm just telling you so it doesn't happened to you. Gabriel is a good guy and cares about you. Never let him go." My mom said as he came around the corner, I smiled as I saw him. "Thank you mom." I said hugging her, I got up and walked over to him.
I called Leo and told him that I couldn't go and explained why, he seemed upset but understood and respected my decision. After the phone call I looked for Gabriel, I realized it's been a while since I've seen him. I looked outside, in the kitchen, and I found him in the living room talking to Grandpa the sight made me smile. I watched for a moment before walking in and joining them.
"What are you boys up too?" I asked them with a smile as o looked to Gabriel who was already looking at me.
"This and that, dear." Grandpa smiled answering my question, Gabriel nodded his head in agreement.
"Sounds like fun." I smiled, "If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna get some fresh air." Gabriel smiled before leaving the room.
"That boy is head over heals in love with you, Adeline. He looks at you like your his whole world." Grandpa told me which made me.
"He's a good man, I love him Grandpa." I told him smiling thinking about him. "I can tell, love. It's the same look of love your parents shared." He said with a smile.
