It was almost spring and it was time for me to head back home. Gabriel went back quite a bit ago, mountie Business never stops. Grandpa is doing much better and is almost back to himself, which is good. I was upstairs packing my bags when there was a knock on the door, "Come in!" I yelled as i continued packing. "When are you headed back?" Leo asked, "First thing in the morning." I told him, "I wish you could stay longer, it's been so wonderful having you around." Leo said to me, "It has been nice but I have to get back." I said getting out another bag, "And back to him?" Leo asked, "Yes." I smiled, I missed Gabriel and Grace a lot. "Well leave you to finish." Leo said staring for the door, "Leo." I said he stopped, "I'll miss you." She said hugging him, "I'll miss you too." He said back before heading around the corner. I finished packing and headed off to bed it was going to be a long day of traveling.
"I'll be heading back within a week or so." Mom told be at the train station, "Okay." I smiled, "Goodbye Grandpa. It was nice to be with you again." I said hugging him. "It sure was." He smiled coming out the hug, just than they called my train, "That's me." I said picking my bags, "Be safe!" Mom told me, "I will." I smiled, I headed of to the train.
After a long half day of riding the train it finally stopped in Hope valley. I grabbed my bags and stepped off the train, "Adeline Thornton!" I heard someone yell, "Jack!" I said running over to him, "How did you know I was coming back?" I said to him, "Mom." He laughed, "Of course." I said with a laugh, "How have you been?" I asked my brother, "Busy but good." He smiled, "That's good." I smiled, "Yeah. Someone's been waiting for you." Jack stepped aside to reveal Gabriel. I dropped my bags and practically jumped into his arms. It felt so good to be back into his arms once again. We came out of the hug and smiled at each other before kissing. "I've missed you so much." I told him, "I've missed you more." Gabriel smiled, I smiled back at him.
It was getting late and we all decided that it would be best if Gabriel and I left in the morning. Gab would be staying at Jacks place and I would have moms house to myself, which wasn't a bad thing I needed some time to be alone after a long couple of months in Hamilton. "See you in the morning." Gabriel said before giving me a kiss, "You know it." I smiled before grabbing my bags, "You sure you can find your way back okay?" Jack asked with a laugh, "Yes actually." I said with a chuckle back. I was walking to the house almost out of town of all of a sudden I heard my name, "Adeline Thornton!" I turned around to see the one and only, "Penny Coulter!" I yelled back at her, she ran to me I dropped my bags to met her with a hug. "How long have you been here?!" She asked happily, "Like 10 minutes! When did you get back from New York!?" Ad asked her childhood best friend. "Almost 3 weeks ago!" She said, "Come to my moms place, we have to catch up!" I told her. "Let's go!" Penny smiled.
The two girls talked the night away and ended falling asleep. The two girls jumped up and looked at each other before realizing they fall asleep, they let out a laugh. Ad got up and opened the door, "Good morning, girls." Rosemary said with chuckle, "Mom, how did you know where I was?" Penny asked walking over to the door, "A mom knows everything." Rosemary told the girls, "Breakfast is ready, so come on over." Rosie told the two, they smiled at each other before heading over to their house. "Good morning, you two." Lee said sitting at the table, "Morning, dad." Pen said sitting down, "Good morning, Uncle Lee." I smiled. Uncle Lee said prayer and they eat breakfast. And we all talked and a had a great time.
"Are you sure you can't stay longer?" Penny asked me, "I wish I could but school starts in two weeks and I have nothing ready." I told her a little sad, "But you can always come visit me!" I smiled at her, "I just might take you up on that." Pen told me, "Come on, we still have a long few hours ahead." Gab told me, "All right. See you soon, Pen." I smiled, and we hugged one last time. We waved before we were out of disease, I back in the window to see Gabriel smiling at me. "What?" I asked confused, "Nothing. Your just amazing person." Gab said, I smiled as looked back out the window as the 'Thank you for visiting Hope Valley' sigh passed by.
We talked about everything that we could, Gabriel said that he's been working on tracking a fugitive but lost him about two days ago. But he's still looking for him and hopefully can find him soon. I told him about Hamilton and how my grandpa was finally back to himself and how good it was to see him again after so long. Before we knew it we were arriving back at Brookfield, we were talking so much Ididn't even realize the time. Gabriel walked out first and than helped me out as well. He walked over and grabbed our bags, I looked around the small town nothing much as changed. "Adeline!" Grace yelled as I saw her running over to met her, "Grace!" I yelled running to met her, "It's been so long!" Grace told me coming out of our hug, "Way to long!" I told her, "We need to get together. Does tomorrow work?" Grace asked, "Sure does." I smiled. "Can you get home okay?" Gabriel asked me, "Yeah. I'll see you tomorrow." I smiled at him before he walked off to his office. "Well I'm tied of a long ride. See you tomorrow." I smiled at Grace, "See you tomorrow!" Grace smiled back. She walked off and I walked on the trail to home.
I was opened the door but as I was doing that I thought I heard something in the woods moving around, I assumed it was some sort of animal and walked in shutting the door behind. "Meow!" Blizzard cane running over to me. "Blizzard!" I said happily I put my bad down and picked him up, "I've missed you my little friend." I told as he meow again. I put him down and put my bag in my room it was about 5 o'clock and I was hungry but I wasn't sure what I had for food since I was gone for so long. I looked in the ice box to see some fresh chicken in it. She smiled at knowing who it was, Gabriel. He was the only one who knew that I was coming home today.
I made the chicken and chilled for the rest of the evening. Blizzard would not leave my side the whole time, I couldn't decide if he missed me or if he just wanted some chicken. I blow out my lump and headed to my bed, I happened to look out the window and thought I saw someone walk by. I was scared for only a second but brushing it off quickly blaming a bird that was flying by. I was tried and I need to worry, Brookfield is a small town and there was nothing to worry about.
