"Its been two week since coming to Hope Valley and it's been amazing to catch up with everyone, I didn't realize how much I missed being here. Bilzzed as made himself at home, and just adores mother. I still haven't heard from Gabriel but I wrote him saying I was here just so he knew. I still miss him it doesn't get any easier. I'm exhausted even when I've slept fine but I think it's because I'm in a different bed that's not mine, I also think that's why my back hurts. I'm hoping for a better night's rest tonight." I closed my journal and looked over at Bilzzed who was fast asleep on my bed, I sighed wishing I could sleep like that.
I walked down the street waving to family faces as we passed by each other. I stopped into Ned's to see if Gabriel as written me at all, I bumped into a face I didn't think I would see again. "Leo?" I asked more confused what he was doing here and not in Hamilton.
"Adeline Thornton!" He said giving me a hug which I returned. "Actually it's Kinslow now. Gabriel and I got married a couple months ago." I told him proud of what my last name was now. "Oh congratulations! Where is he? Is he in town as well?" He asked. "No I'm afraid not, he's up north fighting." I told him with a half smile. "But what are you doing in town? I thought this small town kinda life wasn't you." I asked with a laugh.
"Well, Penny and I have been counting for the past few months so I decided to come surprise her." He told me which completely surprised me she didn't tell me about this.
"Penny didn't tell me! Congrats! She's a great person." I told him with a smile. "Well I don't want to keep you busy, I'll see you around." I smiled and went into the store.
"Hi Mr yost. Anything today?" I asked him and he looked for a moment, "Sorry, Adeline not today." He told me, "That's okay. I'm sure he's just busy." I said but more to convince myself. "Have a good afternoon." I smiled before heading out the door. I saw my mom talking to Auntie Rose so I thought I go say hi.
"Auntie Rose, mother." I said greetings them with a smile. "Anything from Gabriel today? Aunt Rosie asked. "Not today. I'm sure he's just busy and doesn't have time to write." I said answering her question.
"I'm sure you'll hear from him soon." My mom told me with a smile Aunt Rosie gave me a reassuring smile. We talked for a few more minutes before we all went our ways. I wasn't feeling well so I decided to head back and maybe try to get some rest to see if that will help.
I woke up to a knock on the door and my mom came in, "Are you okay?" She asked me, "Yeah I was just tried and I thought I nap would be good," I smiled. "Okay. Dinner will be ready at 5. Penny, your aunt and uncle will be here as well." She told me before shutting the door. I rested a little bit longer before heading down stairs but when I did I smelt an awful smell that made me nauseous.
"What is that smile?" I asked as the nauseous feeling came stronger, "Its just coffee and dinner, Adeline." My mother told me, "Excuse me." I said running out side for some fresh air which helped, that never happened before. After a few minutes of standing outside I went back in with some weird looks from my mom and Auntie rose but they didn't say anything. We all talked and had a good time with each other, we had many times like this growing up some of my best memories are from moments like this. It was getting late and everyone left and I called it a night, once again looking at the moon thinking of Gabriel.
