Why?

Elizabeth POV

The cakes were done and decorated, dinner cooked and ready and we even had ice cream and sodas to put with the cakes.

But I was still worried.

I don't have a gift for Meliodas...... My best friend and I don't have a gift for him...... Some friend I am, I know he said I didn't have to get him anything and he didn't want anything, but...... I still should've. I thought sadly.

"Woah, hey, what's with the sad face?" Zeldris asked startling me out of my thoughts,

"Oh, n-nothing." I spoke softly,

"Mhm, yeah I don't believe that, come on, you want me to be honest with you but won't be honest with me?" He said teasingly,

"Oh..... Well yeah, I guess your right. I'm just worried about the fact that I have nothing to give Meliodas for today..... He told me not to but I....... Should've anyway" I spoke truthfully,

"Ah, I see. Well he told you not to worry didn't he? So don't" he said softly,

"Yeah, I know...... But I still should've" I said sadly,

"Hmm, you seem pretty concerned about him dont'cha? Well how bout this, after dinner get him alone and ask him. It shouldn't be TOO hard to do that, he trusts you a lot." He spoke sincerely,

"Okay, thank you" I said with a smile,

He just a smiled.

"Alright let's carry this in" he said gesturing to all the food,

I grabbed the cake while he and and gelda grabbed the pizza, ice cream and soda.

Walking into the living room with a smile.

"Meliodas, look what Elizabeth helped make" zeldris spoke setting things down,

Meliodas looked irritated until he locked eyes with me.

"Wow guys great job, you guys didn't have to." Meliodas spoke sincerely,

"Yea, no prob" zeldris said grinning,

Time skip afternoon

Everyone had been playing all sorts of games with Meliodas, well besides me, I was sitting watching from the couch.

Meliodas's father was also just watching.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw him look over at me.

"Elizabeth? May I have a word with you?" He spoke just loudly enough for me to hear over their yelling, something about someone being a 'screen peeker'

I don't know if I should trust him or not, after all the things Meliodas said he did. To him and his brothers. But he IS Meliodas's father...... Maybe I should try to befriend him? After all he is related to Meliodas so he can't be too horrible...... Right? I thought to myself nervously glancing back at Meliodas.

He was still playing call of duty with zeldris and estarosa..... Which meant I would have to go alone with a man I didn't know....... But I didn't know Meliodas when I met him either, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
