Chapter 3

The titan lunged at me grabbing me by the waist, I cried out in pain but it was no use, nobody was around. I swear I felt a few ribs crack as the giant bastard crushed me in its hand.

It began to move its hand towards its mouth, this was it? I'm going to die here. Damn it's breath stinks...

Before I knew it there was a flash of green and the titan fell, I slipped out of its hand and began to fall towards the ground.

As I was about to hit the floor, I felt a harsh thud at my side, then the air rushing past me changed directions. I moved away from the floor and was laid down on a building's roof.

"Are you okay?" Asked a voice

I looked to see the same man from behind the curtains crouched down in front of me, he has soft black hair and steel eyes that could cut someone with a glance.

"Yeah, I'm okay.." I said as I sat up.

"Ok well it looks like this town was evacuated with little to no civilian deaths, good work solider." He said as he stood up and left.

After that I went with that squad since the one I was in had been massacred. On the way back to wall rose, titans appeared not too far away from us, picking up speed rapidly.

A few scouts went to go kill them, but were either crushed or eaten. I was about to turn around to help when I was ordered to keep going, so I did.

I turned around to see more titans popping up everywhere as the squad fought them. I just kept on riding back to hq. "I hope they're okay." I thought to myself as I turned back around and continued.

When I got through the gate into wall rose, I immediately fell off my horse and collapsed to the ground. "That titan must have injured me more than I thought." I thought to myself as I laid on the floor in pain.

Some garrison members came down to see if I was okay. Did I look okay? They took me back to scouts hq and to the medical wing. There I got my torso bandaged up and my ribs tended to.

I walked out into the courtyard in front of hq, I had been summoned but I wasn't sure what for. There I was greeted by Petra.

"Petra! Why are you here? Did you get summoned too?" I asked her

"Yeah I did, who knows what for though." She replied

"I thought it was because I was in trouble for something, but the fact that you got summoned here too means I'm probably not," I said, "well because.. to be honest I've never seen you get in trouble for anything."

She just shrugged as Oluo approached us, according to him he got summoned too. After a few minutes of waiting, two other people appeared that were summoned too.

They introduced themselves as Eld and Gunther. Just then the commander approached us, we all saluted him as he stood before us.

"Your probabally wondering why you've been summoned correct? Well starting today, you will be the scouts elite squad due to your outstanding battle performances in the past." He said

I stood there in disbelief, "I was chosen for an elite squad? Who was going to be our captain?"  My questions were answered when a short man walked towards us and stood beside Erwin. Well I say shorter.. we're more or less the same height.

His gaze fell on me, then was moved onto the other squad members.

"This is Levi, he's a new captain of the scouts and will be in charge of you due to his also outstanding skill set." Said commander Erwin, "I'll let you all get acquainted, Levi squad." And with that he walked away.

"So his name was Levi huh?" I thought to myself as I looked at the ravenette, I guess I must have been staring because he said,

"What are you looking at Pearl?"

"He knows my name-? Oh no-"

"Nothing sir, I must have zoned out." I replied trying to keep my face from going red with embarrassment.

It must have been a good enough excuse for him because he nodded and turned to the other squad members.

"You will no longer be staying here, we're moving to a different headquarters further south of here." He said, "I expect you to have packed all your things and be out here on your horses in an hour." He said before leaving.

"An hour?! He expects us to pack everything up in an hour?!" I thought to myself as I looked at my squadmates who must have been thinking the same thing.

Without saying a word to each other, we all ran towards our rooms. When I reached mine, which I shared with other people.

I ran to my bunk and started shoving anything I owned into bags. I left a good amount of stuff behind because I couldn't fit all of it into the 2 bags (for expeditions) that we were provided with when we joined the scouts.

After about an hour, I had gotten everything I needed, said goodbye to my roommates and walked towards the courtyard.

"Your late." Was the first thing I heard when I reached my horse.

"Yeah but only by like... a few minutes!" I said back as i mounted my horse.

I looked up to see Captain Levi glaring at me, "guess I shouldn't have said that-" I thought to myself as a shifted uncomfortably under his gaze.

As we're riding our horses for a good hour and a half to reach the new hq, and when we reached it, it looked like a castle more than anything else.

On closer expection, it looked run down. Like nobody had been there in years. "I sure as hell hope there are no spiders in there. I hate spiders."

We all tied our horses up, and walked to the castle entrance. I pushed open the door and basically choked on all the dust that was flew out, despite having a mask on.

"Fucking hell it's dusty-" I said between coughs

"At least the dust blasted you in the face and not us" said Eld as he held back a laugh

"Oh come on! It really didn't hit you guys?!" I shouted as I brushed out all the dust that had settled on me off with my hands.

Just the the captain walked towards us, "this place needs a good cleaning." He said, "I expect you all to clean it up to my standards or you are never going to bed tonight."

We all groaned and placed our bags on the floor in the entrance after scrubbing the floor where we put them as insisted by the captain. Then got to work
