Chaper 8

The day after the expedition, we gave the family of the girl we found in the tree her cape. I'm not sure what happened to the journal but I think Hange has it?

I was laid down on the bed staring up at the ceiling. I was thinking about nothing in particular when something hit me. I sat up in bed and looked at Levi who was at his desk.

"Captain?"

"Hm?"

"Where do Hange and Moblit sleep?"

"In their rooms?"

"I thought we didn't have any spare rooms."

He just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders, "why do you not like sharing a room with me?" He asked as he got up and walked over to me.

"No it's not that-"

"Hm? What is it then?" He asked as he got really close to me.

"It's just that since when did we have two extra rooms-?"

"Who knows." He said as he sat down on the bed next to me on the bed abnormally close to me.

I scooted away from him a little but he just pulled me back.

"Ash."

"Huh?"

"Take that mask off, I want to see who I share my room with."

"I don't want to take it off."

"Take it off. That's an order."

"No."

"No? That's not an option."

I got up and was about to leave when he grabbed my wrist. I felt myself flush red as he pulled me towards him and sat me back onto the bed.

"Sir I really don't want to take it off." I said as I swatted his hand away from my wrist.

"I did tell you it was an order didn't I? Take it off."

"No. I already told you why I wear it so why do you want to see?"

"Because."

"Because what? I need a reason!"

"Because I want to see your face."

"Why?!"

"Do I need a reason?"

I thought for a moment then shook my head. He didn't need a reason but why on earth would he want to see it? I'm just some guy in his squad so why does he care about seeing my face?

"Well are you going to take it off?" He asked me.

I shook my head once again. He sighed and mumbled,

"Guess I'll have to force it."

Before I had time to react, he had me pinned down on the bed with both hands above my head. He held them down with one hand as he used his other to take off the mask.

Using his index finger, he unhooked the mask from my ear and took it off. When it was fully off my face he froze and just stared at me.

"Sir-?"

He began running his thumb along my scar, almost instinctively I jerked my head away from him.

I looked at me for a second before leaning down towards me, and kissing my scar tenderly. I could feel my face heat up as he pulled away.

"Your red" he teased

All within the span of a few seconds, I wrapped my legs around his waist flipping us over then straddled him.
